I believe Dr. Applebaum is an excellent surgeon. He did his job great and no complications at all. I joked with him the day of my surgery that I wanted a tennis ball size stomach instead of a golf ball size, he laughed and ask if I was serious. I think I could have got the tennis ball size if I really wanted it. I am happy with my results and I hope anyone who is looking, looks towards Dr. Applebaum for WLS. I will be honest, his staff does need a little improvement, but my experience was good overall.    Posted on 06/06/2008

Dr. Applebaum deserves a 100% positive review, as he is meticulous! I felt totally cared for, by both him, and his staff. I felt totally comfortable with his knowledge, experience, and manner... the perfect combination of caring and competence.    Posted on 03/18/2008

He looked like a professional felt really comfortable with him.His staff was very nice and helpful made ya feel really glad to be there. everything has been wonderful for me there. he really likes ya to come in and keep your appts with him. he has an excellent program that ya follow really easy and not to complicated. he sat with me and talked to me about the surgery and made sure i knew all the risks that were involved. I would give him a very good rate and i would recommend anyone who wants to do this to go to him. The whole experience has been the greatest and i am glad that i pick him. my recovery was outstanding and have had no complications at all...he is the best!!!    Posted on 03/18/2008

My first impression of Dr. Applebaum was that he was really well informed about all the WLS alternatives. He is well spoken and clear when he answered questions. He was also very honest. He seemed to genuinely care about his patients. I was banded on 1/22/08 and so far my experience has been wonderful. He takes care of all his patiens personally, in other words, in the event of a problem, he meets you at the ER. HE is GREAT!!! He also has a great bedside manner. His staff is good and they are great about responding to any questions. I did alot of research on surgeons in the El Paso area, and I found Dr. Applebaum to have all qualities in a surgeon that a patient is looking for. I highly reccommend Dr. Applebaum.    Posted on 01/27/2008

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Applebaum and his staff. He was very informative as well as friendly to both my husband and I. It was easy to trust in his knowledge and he did an awesome job. this is something little but big to me, Dr Applebaum saved my tattoo!! I have a ring of roses arond my belly button, Dr applebaum said that he would have to cut through one of my roses. (to me small sacrific for becoming healthy), when i cam out of surgery Dr Applebaum told me he saved my tattoo, and made the insision a little lower in my belly button, and gave the rose a stem. its was awesome, and very thoughtful and shows just how much he cares about his patients. Thumbs up all the way for Dr. Applebaum and his staff!!! I can't think them enough!    Posted on 11/14/2007

My cousin referred me to him, she is 3 years post-op and she swears he is the best of the best. I know he did wonders for her. She looks great! My first impression of Dr. Applebaum was he was very compassionate. He is very devoted to his patient’s aftercare as well. He wants to make sure you know exactly how much this will change your life. He is very firm in you following everything to the T. He is very thorough in knowing everything about you and your medical history. He almost demands support groups. He explained all the pros and cons and was very honest about the risk. He answered all my questions. Very professional, very caring and can’t help but notice his beautiful smile. I'd refer anyone to him and I know he'd treat them just as he did me. I like his demeanor: professional,... [Click here for more]

Very straight forward. His staff was not top notch alot of miscommunications. I work in the healthcare industry so I know how this is. So I did not let that cloud my judgement of Dr. Applebaum. He is strict with his after care rules and his educational seminar was very informative. I like that. He was upfront about the risks of surgery. Overall I give Dr. Applebaum a 10. He has a great bedside manner and his surgical competence is extraordinary.    Posted on 03/30/2007

My surgeon was awesome. The surgery went very well and he took good care of me because the last day in hosp. i didn't even need to take any more pain med. i wasn't hurting at all. He is the greatest and very nice doc. The staff could be a little nicer. He also answered all concerns and questions and of course very knowledgible. His bedside manner was great also. When making appointments at the office is not done in timely manner they need to work this out to where patients dont have to wait hours on end to get seen.    Posted on 03/10/2007

When I called to make my appt they did ask me first to go online and fill out a long form which are the ones that you usually fill out when you go for the first time to the Doctor. At the end of the form it did say that they will contact me within 24hrs and which they did the following day. They asked for all the insurance information and scheduled me for an appt. When appt was scheduled they verified the insurance and they did tell me that my insurance will cover. The date of the appt. the nurse did tell me that it is a long process. That they will have to gather all the information from other doctors and from there write the letter of the insurance. I was also send for several test like for example the one for sleep anea which I end up having sleep anea and choronic Asthma. The... [Click here for more]
