This man is outstanding. He is the reason my insurance company approved me. He called the medical director of my insurance company personally. I can't say enough good things about him. Oh and he's funny too. Posted on 12/19/2007 |

My first impression of Dr. Swartz was that he was a very busy man. As time went by and during my post-op care, I could not ask for better care. He is there to take care of you and help you with all of your questions. He's wonderful! He's on your team and with you every step of the way! Posted on 09/18/2007 |

I met with Dr. Schwartz and Dr. Felix on June 19th. It was such an informative day. My first impression was that they are both pretty funny guys but they take this very seriously. I personally loved the office staff, especially Erica, and felt that even though the day was SO crazy with all their pre-op appointments, classes and seminars going on that they took the time and didn't make me feel rushed. During the seminar Dr. Schwartz emphasized the aftercare over and over again. He is emphatic that we are walking a mile by the end of week one and two miles by the end of week two. By the end of the first month they want you doing cardio and weights in addition to the two miles everyday. He covered all the risks of surgery and went into depth on the cases of the 4 patients they... [Click here for more] have lost out of the 3500 they have operated on. I haven't had surgery yet but so far I rate them a 10 and would recommend them to anyone.

My first impression was that this was an EXTREMELY busy office! No time for small talk or anything other than get in and get out of your appointment. Honestly, on my first visit I felt a little rushed, but...the office was also very professional. I hadn’t come for the social activity, I had come to find a competent surgeon I could trust to perform this surgery and to hopefully be successful at losing weight.
Dr. Swartz impressed me as being knowledgeable and caring. He said I was a perfect candidate for weight loss surgery (not sure if that is said to all the patients), but when I left the office I felt confident that I had made the right choice in choosing him for my surgeon. I just felt comfortable with him. He strikes you as very professional and intelligent.
On my first... [Click here for more] visit back after the surgery, I was feeling very depressed and tearful, and in a lot of pain. He was very understanding and sympathetic, and told me my reaction was perfectly normal...which made me feel 100 % better. Also, when I thought I was having complications a few days after surgery, I called his office and his staff put him on the phone right away! He had me come in the next morning for an appointment and to have labs drawn. Fortunately, I was fine, but I was impressed with his attention to detail.
I would highly recommend Dr. Swart for WLS.

My first impression of Dr. Swartz was that he really cared about his patients. He makes you feel as though you are his only patient. His office staff is great. They are always willng to take the time to help you with any issue that you may have. I can honestly say that there is not one thing that I can say about him that is negative. He really emphasizs the idea of life long commitment. I received lots of education before and after surgery. Without a doubt, after their preop education, I knew exactly what I was getting myself into pre and post surgery. He addressed any and all my concerns regarding any risks associated with the procedure, honestly and openly. Dr. Swartz and his team are fabulous. I would recommend him to anyone that is considering gastric bypass surgery! Posted on 07/23/2006 |

I got into their gastric bypass seminar instead of their lap banding seminar by mistake. Doctor Swartz lead the seminar and I considered his presentation to be outstanding. The room where the seminar was given was very small, considering the physically large size of most of the attendees.
I also had the appointment with Doctor Swartz the next day when I found out the only Doctor Felix performs the lap banding procedure in that office.
Doctor Swartz told me I met all of the criteria for having bariatric surgery and that I was an excellent candidate with a good prognosis for successful weight loss. He did not try to talk me into getting a Roux-en-Y vs lap banding saying that it was my decision and he would support which ever choice I made. Both were... [Click here for more] viable options.
I did not get the impression that the executive director, Rosemary Andriesse, was going to be much help in my battle with Blue Cross / Blue Shield Federal Employee Program (FEP). The office put in the insurance paperwork but I have not heard anything from them even though my letter of denal indicated that they received a copy.
