Dr Von Rueden is very quiet and polite. However he is very engaging when you get into a conversation with him.The one thing I like the most about him is that he gets involved with the support groups and exercise class he actually participates. It is great to see that he is not only telling you what to do but he is there with you this really made me glad and made me feel that I had chose the right surgeon. The staff has been great and has made my visits great and if there was anything I needed it was at my disposal. Dr. Von Rueden does stress and emphasize follow up care and support group meetings you must sign and acknowledgement form when you visit his office. I give him and his staff a 10. In addition, I want to thank my pcp Dr. Steve Miller for sending me to Dr Von Reuden and... [Click here for more] caring enough to be concerned about my care to select the best surgeon he knew.
I am sorry I have not had a negative interaction with Dr. Von Reuden or his staff.

My first impression of Dr Von Rueden is that he is a doctor that really wants to help people have a better quality of life. While I don't look forward to getting all of the pre-op lab tests done, I do look forward to being done with the surgery so that I can start loosing weight. Posted on 10/03/2008 |

When I first thaught about surgery it was with Bayview hospital. That's actually who I spoke with to find out how to get started. When I got the classes started and called they could not see me before Dec 2008. Funny huh I get surgery in 4 days.
Then I started research not only for a great surgeon but one that would understand my strange life. That's when I first called Dr Von Rueden office when I explained to them about the insurance and the time frame they said lets get started. So we did everything happened so very fast and the most inpressive thing was they really are a GOD sent team.
Then I went to the first group not only was I blown away that his wife was there and the team and Dr.V included. But the wonderful people that I met there. I'm a down to earth tell... [Click here for more] it like it is person and so were all the girls there. They make you feel like part of the family. Now that i'm getting close to surgery i'm so excited and scared. I'm setting my self to know I have to get out of surgery and get to group so that way I'm not thinking about the surgery but all the things in group I will miss If I don't go.

My first impression of Dr. Von Reuden, was that I was not quite sure about him, but after the seminar he had won me over. He and his staff are very proffessional, understanding and helpful. He is very layed back in a caring kinda way. He always takes the time to explain and answer all questions no matter how technical or simple they were. The risk and complications were talked about in detail, and he didnt sugar coat anything. In fact when I had my 2nd appt with him and had gained 2 1/2 lbs, he was all over me, and reminded me of the decision that I had made and that if we are to move forward this cant happen again. THAT I LIKE... HE IS A NO B.S DOC! I feel absolutely comfortable with him. The wonderful staff... Sloan, Cathy, Rose and all of the other ladies are just wonderful.... UPDATE: Well, did I tell you that Dr. V is awesome... HE IS...After my surgery the appointments that followed are just fantastic... and he gets in your a-- if your not doing what you should be doing.
All in all... HE IS FANTASTIC!! Couldnt ask for a better doctor.

From the first time I met Dr. Von Rueden, I liked him. He was informative and answered any questions that I had.
As I continued to meet with Dr. Von Rueden and his staff, I felt more confident about my decision to have the surgery done. Each person that I have worked with in his office has been very knowledgeable and helpful as well as kind! I
would absolutely recommend Dr. Von Rueden to people...he was recommended to me and I have done the same.
I wholeheartly believe that the aftercare program is a vital tool in heloing one to succeed! Life isn't always an easy road and it's nice to share the ups and downs with other people who have been through or are going through what you have and can relate.

I was very nerves the first time I met Dr. Von Rueden however, with a calm tone he was able to convince me that everything was going to be ok!! the suregery went well! I felt as a human being every time I visited Dr. Von Rueden. I had the surgery almost 3 years ago.

I was pleased with the initial consultation with Dr. Von Rueden. I enjoyed meeting his office staff, Barbie, Rose and Sloane. They all gave me the impression that I was their most important patient at that time and that made me feel good. He emphasized that bariatric surgery of any kind was a tool and that I should be aware of that fact. How I use the tool is up to me. I agree that is true, how I choose to look at the picture and to react to the chance I am given is totally up to me. I also went to a support group session that evening and was astounded at some of the stories. Met some very helpful people and look forward to interacting with them again.
