10-07-08 Met with him for the first time today. When he walked in he asked how in the world I could let myself get to big!!! Said he was 20 lbs overweight once and it bothered him so much he went on a diet and started exercising so he could lose it. Bery Nice beginning.
But he came highly recommended and having Medicare, I am limited as to who I can go to.
I don't care what his bedside manner is, as long as he is a good surgeon. Posted on 10/07/2008 |

Dr Juarez is an extremely professional man, that takes each and every one of his patients health very serious. Though the office staff was not as professional as i feel they could be, both lacking in personality and customer service skills, they eventually did get the job done. The goal for both myself and the surgeon was to get the surgery approved and get it done so that I may enjoy a happier and healthier quality of life and that was achieved. Posted on 09/28/2008 |

Dr Juarez is a very busy man but I believe he took the time to know my case tell me what I needed to do before he would even do G/Bypass on me. (I had a high steriod issue (160mg per day) I need to be taken off of for my saftey). I was at 400lbs at day of surgery (july 06) and it has been 2 years (Aug 08) and I am now 145lbs. I believe he saved my life and he saves many. His office staff is very busy and even though your normally waiting to see him well past your appointment time understand that he is that good and has a record to back it up that is why so many of us seek him out. I would and do recommend him to everyone. He gets high marks from me in all areas. Posted on 08/21/2008 |

My initial visit in Nov. 2007 was great. He said they'd schedule in 3 to 4 months. I attended the seminars, filed my paperwork, etc. His office staff is horrible. They won't answer the phone, they won't return phone calls, and they lose paperwork. Every time I actually make contact, there's another requirement, quite often something that's already been filed. My cardiologist's office and PCP office have experienced the same treatment. How can there be aftercare??? Juarez is touted as the best, but patient care sucks. I'm changing surgeons. He is very Smart but not to personable.
He really cares about his patients health.
The office wait time was very long/over an hour.
The doctor was great but the staff were not friendly.
Be prepared to wait but its worth it.
Pre op and after care are very important to him.
The bridges program has many aftercare options.
I was fully aware about the risks involved because of the surgeon.
I would rate him an 8. It would be 10 but he is still not personable and his staff is unfriendly.
It is better to have surgical competence over bedside manner but I would like both. Posted on 07/14/2008 |

Dr Juarez was very professional, and definitely seemed to know what he was talking about. He didnt talk a whole lot, and he wasnt very personal. I didnt care though. I knew a lot of people that had surgery done by him, and everyone single one of them have had success, and I didnt care if it was all business, I just knew he was a great surgeon. He did go over all the risks, details, and process of the entire procedure, and it pretty much went exactly how he said. The only thing I wasnt very happy with was his office staff. My husband is now going through the same process I did, and they scheduled his appointment during their lunch??? Of course, no one was there to see him. Then when we finally rescheduled, there was another girl that had just driven over 2 hours for her appointment,... [Click here for more] and she ended up walking out because they had hers wrong too. Then when you call, it is getting impossible to reach someone. I recently had also asked for a letter of recommendation for an abdomnioplasty, and John in the office said he would take care of it. Now John wont call me and of course, I cant get through on the phone. Overall, I would rate the surgeon a 10, and his office staff a -1.

I was told my several doctors that I am friends with, that Dr. Juarez is the best in Arizona. Because of that you usually have to wait about an hour to 1 1/2 hrs. to get to you appointment. Posted on 05/12/2008 |

Dr. Juarez was absoutley amazing. I am so glad I went with him. I felt extremely comfortable in his care. His bedside manner isn't the best..he doesn't talk a lot but he is definitely the best at what he does. His staff on the other hand though, wasn't the best. It was really hard getting in touch with him but they did get the work done. The aftercare at St. Lukes was fantastic. Anytime I needed something, though, they were right there for me. Dr. Juarez was phenomenal. Posted on 04/26/2008 |
