Our first impression of Dr. Foote was that he is truly interested in the health and happiness of his patients. He explained the procedure and related risks thoroughly, and he was very helpful in making informed decisions.
My husband and I are in the pre-operative stage of bariatric surgery. Our experience with the office staff has been much less pleasurable. We feel that we have been treated disrespectfully in person, and our telephone calls are not returned. It is our impression that the practice is over-burdened with patients, and we are a bother. I first met Dr. Foote at a friend's appointment. He is honest and upfront about the surgery, complications, and life after surgery. I felt confident in him from the minute I met him. I'm hoping my first impression doesn't change. His office staff is friendly and accomodating. Posted on 09/27/2008 |

I was impressed right away with Dr. Foote's kindness. He is upbeat and enthusiastic and very positive! He answered all my questions and made sure I asked everything on my list and didn't appear in a hurry at all. He explained risks, but very much put me at ease about my situation. Dr Foote is a great doctor. He is very friendly and very attentive to details. After just starting the surgery, it was found that my insides are not in the right spot. He told me that he was not sure he would be able to complete my surgery, but he kept going and said my gastric bypass is backward, but still going to work great. He is a 3rd generation doctor and I was told very picky when it comes to surgery. I would recommend him to anyone thinking of gastric bypass. Posted on 06/16/2008 |

Dr. Foote is an amazing surgeon who obviously has a great passion for his work! He was kind and informative and very patient with me at my pre op appointment and at the hospital. Make sure you understand that you only see him in a one on one, one time before surgery so have your list ready! The office staff is mostly good. You need to follow up on things yourself and be your own advocate which I did in a friendly way and everything went great. Aftercare is a must. They have endless support groups you may attend! I really like Dr. Pooplawski as he was up front and really listened to me and with my husbanc there answered all of our questions that we hadl.
I had to cancell my surgy 4 differant times as my surgar was really to high to have my ssurgery and from my dentist I realised that it was from my teeth as I had infectioin in my gums and my upper teeth had to be taken out. I had never thought that it would of made a differance as I was going to my dentist every 3 months so that I could keep them.
After that my sugar went right down and I was finally able to have the surgery.
On November 22,02 I was being preped for surgery and I noticed that I was having my galbladder out and they said "yes". My doctor met with me and said if I had any thing that I wanted to say and I just said to... [Click here for more] them to get me though it safely.
My doctor got me through it safely but he couldn't do my RNY as my galbladder was so bad that I had a galstone the size of a robbin's egg and my bileduk was as big as a quarter and its to be the size of a pencil.
It's going to be two months on Wed. and I haave one drain left from three. My doctor wouldn't do the surgery as it wasn't safe for me and I am very happy that he did that as some wouldn't of. He is trying to find aa specialist to do my surgery to repair it so that I can have my surgery soon but he's having a hard time as the sne that he thought that would do it said no. I am going to have to go to U of M when he finds one for me and 6 months after that then I can have my RNY. I love my doctor and I am glad that I have him. I don't want anyother doctor to do this as he use to do the type of surgery that has to do with a liver and he looking for one who does this often. My family doctor has faith in him too;so that's all the back up that I need.
NEGATIVE: I was very unhappy to learrn that I didn't have the surgery but I was greatful that I was OK. I was very UPSET the way that I was treated as everyone was treating me as if I had had the surgery. When I told them what had happened then they asked if he "open and closed me" Well no he took out my galbladder and then was going to do the surgery so I had the same insisun as I would of had. THE NURSES NEEDED TO READ MY CHART AND TO TREAT EACH PATIENT AS AN INDIVIAUAL.
After I got home from Holland; the BTC sent me a letter welcoming me to the otherside and I couldn't believe that they did that. I was still getting it.
2Weeks later I went back down there for my check up and he took out one of my drains and I told him about what had happened and he gave me a phone number to call and complain. I did and she called me back twenty minutes later and was very nce. (there were other things that happened but I'm not going to get into it).
I got a called from the President of the BTC the next day and he was very sorry aboutt what had happened to me and asked if there was anything that he couldd do and I said that I didn't want this to happen to anyone else. I told him that I wasn't even to go to his place but because of Insurance reasons this would be the one I would but if there was anyother way I wouldn't; he assured me that there would be changes as this was the second time in 3 months that someone didn't get there surgery and it happened. I just said for them to read the chart and that there was a lot of possitive things there too.

My first impression of Dr Foote was that he was very interested in what I had to say.
My impression of him has not really changed,he did my scope and was very caring.
The office staff for the most part are very nice.
very busy,one of the front desk ladies is very
short with people and I dont care for that.
What did I like least about him/her..He is very busy so you cant really get to know him.
What should future patients know about him.
He is a good doctor I belive he knows his craft very well.

My first impression of Dr. Foote is that he was a very caring individual and was truly concerned about the health of those of us that were at the meeting he held. My opinion of him has only improved as I got more of a chance to meet him during the time I was in the hospital for my surgery. He was supportive of me and let me ask him as many questions as I wanted. I never felt rushed like he had to go see other patients. The staff at his office was wonderful and I didn't feel like anybody there was judgmental of me because I was overweight. To help make sure you are as successful as possible they have several follow up appointments that you have to go to as well as yearly for the rest of your life. I am so glad that I chose Dr. Foote as my surgeon. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give... [Click here for more] him a definite 10. He is very competent in his profession and treats you like a person not a patient. I only wish that I could have seen him more. I more often than not saw the PAs at my office visits but that is because he does surgery 4 days a week. The clinic where he practices has a very stringent pre-op diet and follow up diet. This was a major downfall. You have to eat their supplements for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks post op Yhey are ok to start with but by the end of the third week I could not eat them anymore. It would be nice if you could add a few more things after your first week post-op but they really don't like you to do that.
