Dr. Yadegar is the most caring surgeon, I'm not just saying that. He is always there to answer any question you may have. I felt very safe in this hands. His office is right next to Lancaster Commuity Hospital. He is very informative, making sure you understand everything about the process. When I was in the hospital he gave me his personal pager number so I could reach him at any time. I would rate him a 10. His surgical competence and bedside manner is what makes him stand out to other surgeons. From the first moment you meet him you can tell he cares about what he does and cares about you the patient. I first met Dr. Yadegar at the Kaiser Orientation in Panorama City. I found him to be very knowledgable and his presentation as good as the UCLA presentation I saw 2 weeks before. I decided that I would like to have him do my WLS if he could get me in sooner than UCLA.
His creditials and success rate are outstanding. He has a charming bedside manner but is very matter of fact when it comes to the possible risks. You will understand EVERYTHING before you go under the knife and if you don't- you obviously weren't paying attention.
His office staff is accessable, kind and extremely friendly. When it comes to the ins and outs of the insurance game- let me bluntly say that they know their shit.
His program- BEFORE AND AFTERCARE is Headed by Liz Roark and is by far one of the best... [Click here for more] and most detailed follow up programs available. They REALLY want you to succeed and provide all the tools to do so!
Overall, I would rate the Surgeon and his office a 10 out of 10. I feel confident that I will succeed and that I the best support with the Doctor and his team behind me.

My first impression of Dr.Yadegar was that he is very knowledgeable in this area on Gastric Bypass . He is a very caring Doctor, he knows what he is doing . His office staff was very friendly and kind .There is nothing about Dr. Yadegar or his staff that was not pleasing . That he is a very good surgeon and that he has a very good staff that cares also . He lets you know about how you are suppose to take care of yourself while you are at home . He sits and discusses all the risks for you and what to expect after surgery . He is 100% competant and good Doctor . He has surgical competance and his bed side manner are both great . I highly recommend him as your surgeon . Christine Martinez Posted on 05/05/2008 |

First of all, I have to say that I have, hands down, the BEST WLS team in the world.
I had surgery on 2/25/08 and lost 14 pounds the first week . . . and then nothing for two months. I'd go up a pound, down a pound, up two, down three . . . It was an overwhelmingly desperate feeling.
At nearly my wit's end, I called Dr. Yadegar's nurse coordinator, Liz, to talk with her. The receptionist Joanne said she was gone on vacation to Mexico. I was disappointed, but just left a message for Liz to call me. When I got off the phone, I burst into tears. After almost nine weeks with hardly any results, I couldn't pretend that this stall/plateau didn't bother me anymore. You can only put on a brave face for so long. I had a really good cry.
In the middle of my cry . . . the phone rang.... [Click here for more] It was the receptionist, Joanne, again! I was SO embarrassed that she caught me crying! She told me that Liz had just happened to call in, and said that she & Dr. Y wanted to see me on Tuesday. She was so sweet and just encouraged me. After I got off the phone with her, the phone rang yet again. It was Liz! Unknown to me, Joanne had called her to let her know how I was feeling.
Now, this just tells you about the dedication of my surgeon's team and why they're the best in the world. Here Liz is, in the airport going on a personal vacation to Mexico, and she calls me in the airport to ask me what's going on! I've NEVER had any doctor or nurse do that on their personal time. I was THAT important to them??
She puts me on hold and calls the doctor to see if he can see me. It turns out that he absolutely can't, but he sends a message to me through Liz to tell me to take a deep breath, it's okay, I'm not alone in this, and to settle down, and we're going to dig until we find the answer to what's wrong. Finally, someone offers me hope!
It was a long weekend, but on Tuesday, I went to see him. He first of all calmed my heart by saying this: "When people aren't losing weight with the surgery, there's always a very simple explanation." That made me feel better immediately. He had the answer, and he was going to help!
After following his new instructions (I need about 150g of protein instead of the standard 80-100g), I lost SEVEN pounds in the following week! I was taking in just enough protein to keep me stalled.
I immediately sent them a note via email this morning to let them know how grateful I was. Liz is a no-nonsense "WLS mom" who tells us EXACTLY what we need to hear. She's going to push you farther than you think you can go, so just be prepared!
And what's special is that she's not just a nurse, but SHE'S HAD THE SURGERY HERSELF. I'm so glad she's actually had her own battles with obesity, because she can identify with her patients. Any other nurse without that kind of experience might have become impatient with me and not given me the time of day to see that there was something else that needed to happen.
Dr. Yadegar has the kindest bedside manner I've ever seen in any doctor or surgeon. And being a military kid, I have lived in both Europe and Asia, on both the East and West Coasts, as far south as Florida, and as far North as Minnesota. Never seen anything like it. That says a lot.
Both my husband and my mother (who came from Texas for the surgery) liked him immediately and commented so many times on how comforting he was. I had nothing to fear. It's too bad that he's just my bariatric surgeon, because I'd make him my PCP (and the PCP of all my friends, too) if I could! :)
I'm so thankful for Liz and Dr. Yadegar's very active participation on my road to recovery, and for listening and caring -- for not just being medical experts, but for allowing themselves to be human as they practice medicine. That's SUCH a huge missing element in medicine today.
They do more than just taking care of us physically; they understand the emotional parts of us that are connected with our physical issues. They see their patients as human, and until you really need it, you don't know how good that feels. The Lord has surely blessed me with the best help I ever could have had as I fight the biggest battle of my life. They've given me the key to my prison, and the ability to walk from under the black cloud of obesity that's followed me my entire life.

I was very impressed with my first impression of my surgeon. He was very nice and and has a wonderful bedside manner.
My impression only changed for the better over time. I don't like alot of doctors but I really liked Dr. Yadegar.
The office staff was so great. They were very freindly and informative.
I don't really have anything bad to say about my doctor.
I would hope that anyone with the opportunity to work with Dr. Yadegar would do so with the knowledge that he knows what he is doing and has addressed all the need to knows prior to surgery. He is very caring and treats you like you were his family. He answered all my questions and didn't hesitate to tell me if I'm doing something wrong. Posted on 04/06/2008 |

Doctor Yadegar was very professional and informative at our first consult. I was able to voice concerns and he was able to answer all my questions. When I told him I was interested in the lap band v/s the bypass, he did his best to give me as much information as possible and told me he could send me to a doctor in another town to have that done as he only does MAYBE 1-3 lapbands a year and this other doctor specializes in them.
I love my surgeon! ON the day of surgery he would not let them wheel me back until he had seen me. Liz came and sat with me to calm my nerves (and help me get those TED hose on...LOL) He wrapped me up in warm blankets in the OR, he was so gentle and made sure I was always comfortable. I couldnt have asked for a more caring and cautious doctor. During... [Click here for more] surgery he noticed a lot of adhesions, and instead of just working around them, he biopsied some and waited to do my surgery until he got an OK from pathology! (I was recovering from Endometriosis and a hysterectomy!) After surgery I saw him lots in the hospital, he really listened to me and took all my feelings into consideration! (Especially when he KNEW I would NOT drink my vitamins... EEEWW YUCK!)
I LOVE YOU DR YADEGAR!!! If you live in the Greater Antelope Valley and are looking into RNY, THIS IS YOUR MAN!!!

My first visit with Dr. Yadegar was very scary. I didn't know what to expect. But the moment I met him I felt so comfortable. He and His staff are so wonderful. I am 1 year out and I still talk to them regularly. They are always there for me. They treat me like I am part of there family. I just can't say enough about them. I know that if it wasn't for there entire crew I wouldn't have the achieved my goal. Posted on 02/01/2007 |

My first impression was that he was very carring and respectful. In no way did I feel put down because of my obesity. I have certainly experienced this before with other Doctors.
Over time I realized that he is a highly intelligent expert in this field and has been doing it for quite some time but that is not all he does. He cares for the whole patient. He is warm, personable and friendly.
His office staff is awesome! Liz is the Nurse Coordinator and treats you like a long lost friend. She is my cheerleader and my encyclopedia of information. She is an expert! She is very compassionate.
I can't think of anything I don't like about Dr. Yadegar or Liz!
Future patients should know that they are awesome. They go out of their way to help you any way they can. Finally, a bariatric... [Click here for more] program in the High Desert! We no longer have to drive for hours to get surgery or the before and after care that we need! It's awesome!
They emphasize aftercare strongly with lots of training & nutition classes.
The aftercare program is very structured. There are follow up appointments and all kinds of suport if needed.
The risks were explained very thoroughly, so were the risks of obesity.
I would give them the highest rating possible! I have had an awesome experience and I know that I am in great and carring hands.
Both their bedside manner and their surgical competence is awesome. Couldn't be better! He spends time and doesn't make you feel like he needs to rush on to the next patient...It's amazing really! Usually if you find an excellent surgeon he is an @#$%^&! So to find one that is both a skilled surgeon and a real carring person is almost a miracle!
