Dr. Francis performed my lapband surgery on 5/20 at Fountain Valley hospital.
My first impression of her and my impression today is that she is a very committed and competent physician.
She works in a very busy group, as I am sure most bariatric groups are, so appointment times and schedules are precious.
The office staff was quite good. I came from out of state for my procedure which required a lot of co-ordination of tests. As a team effort we pulled it off...it takes great dedication from the patient and the staff.
There is a structured aftercare program and Dr. Francis is very specific about following the guidelines and staying on point with my goal in mind.
Risks of surgery were addressed...and I had done a good deal of research as well.
I really did not... [Click here for more] experience Dr. Francis' bedside manner because only in overnight. I 'remember' seeing her about 6pm the night of surgery because I had developed a substantial hematoma...but as groggy as I was, it is possible she came by more than once.

Dr. Francis is the BEST, from my first impression until now, she and her office staff treat me like a queen. You can ask as many questions as you would like and they never make you feel like they are stupid questions, the entire staff wants to make sure you are knowledgable and comfortable with your decision.
She has a great after care system going along with support groups which are held several days a week.
Surgical competence is of the most importance, but Dr. Francis gives you the best of both worlds...her bedside manner along with the rest of her staff is the best.
I have not experienced anything about her or the staff that I least like, I had a small complication with my port, but they treated me wonderfully and corrected it.
I would go to Dr. Francis again in a... [Click here for more] second, with this surgery or any other as she and her staff are GREAT and I TRUST them.

I had my surgery nearly two years ago now and I'm extremely pleased with having had Dr Francis as my surgeon! She was very friendly and personable, yet professional and "no-nonsense" at the same time. Dr Francis took the time to answer all my questions and address any concerns I'd had, and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. During my hospital stay, she visited with me and again answered any questions I had.
About a week post-surgery, I got alarmed when I discovered a hard "lump" at the incision site where the camera had been placed during surgery. Dr Francis returned my frantic call within minutes and put me at ease, explaining that the muscle there was perhaps a bit swollen, but nothing to be concerned about-- that it was common.
