My first impression of Dr. Singh was that he was very laid back. His staff was excellent everyone answered all my questions they were so helpful and kind. Dr. Singh gave me his cell number is always available for any problem he visted me in the hospital 2 sometimes 3 times a day. He truly cares about his patients. My first impression of Dr. Singh was that he was a funny guy, a jokester. I went to one of his seminars and he was very personable, taking time to answer what I now know must be mundane questions. Over time, my appreciation for his good naturedness increased. He answered all of my questions (sometimes twice) and was available before and after my surgery for anything needed. His office staff is superb. He works with a nutritionist who has been of great help to me through my journey. His bariatric coordinator makes sure we keep our food diary and knows how to deliver tough love in a gentle way. Dr. Singh emphasizes after care. His office holds a support group meeting once a month and patients are told they are welcome to come into the office anytime they need. There have been... [Click here for more] times when I went in between appointments to get an accurate weight for myself and was always greeted warmly. I was told of the risks of my surgery beforehand and had the opportunity to talk to both my surgeon and my PCP about them to make sure I felt comfortable. Overall, I would say that Dr. Singh is a first class surgeon.

In September 2006, I had the bariatric procedure and Dr. Singh was my surgeon. From the initial seminar, pre-surgery preparation tasks, through the surgery's completion, Dr. Singh's professionalism and confident manner kept going and kept me hopeful. I am in healthcare and work at another area hospital that offered bariatric surgery and I chose St. Agnes and Dr. Singh because of their reputation and the length of experience with the procedure. The care received at St. Agnes was exceptional... so much so, I wrote a letter to administration telling them about it. The office staff were great too... they seem to know most people on a first name basis, Making each patient feel important and heard. My surgery was, as Dr. Singh told me at my first appointment, "a life changing experience".... [Click here for more] I've lost over 130 pounds which was half my body weight. My BMI is now 23. So, in conclusion, I have nothing but glowing words for the Bariatric Program and staff... especially Dr. Singh, who's added years to my life.

Dr Singh is a caring, sincere practitioner. He is a cautious individual who will complete the procedure that is best, based on the needs of the patient. His manner is soothing and calming for anyone who may be a bit nervous. Dr Singh always takes the time to listen to his patients and answer their questions. I am lucky to have found him. My first thoughts of Bariatric surgery and surgeons was to check it out with the Medical Personnel that I work with. Their opinon of Dr Singh was very good. Additionally, I did my homework on him in the general medical community and there again each physican that I made an inquiry to came back positive. I went into his office with a positive attitude and was greeted by a staff that was equally positive. Dr. Singh and his staff are a part of a Center of Excellance and it shows. The care and information given prior to the surgery prepares the enganged patient to be ready for surgery. His team of practioners make sure that you have all of the information that you need and give you the facts to make sure that you are taking care of yourself appropriately from start to finish. If you see Dr Singh and his staff and you are not prepared for this surgery you have failed, not the physician or his staff. Surgical excellence and a personable manner enhance every aspect of this experience. My weight loss journey has been great and I lost 56 lbs from date of surgery in January to Mid May 2008 - I still have a long way to go but I am looking forward to the journey and Dr Singh and his staff give me the tools to make that journey successful.

My first impression was neither good nor bad. Dr. Singh "inherited" me from another surgeon who had left my area. Since I didn't have too much faith in the other surgeons in that first practice, I asked for a referral to someone in Baltimore. I was lucky in that I was referred to Dr. Singh. At first meeting, I thought he was very quiet but very business. He reveiwed my records and said that I was "doable". I didn't see him again until the day of my surgery. He was warm and comforting prior to the surgery. After the surgery, he was even more compassionate when he told me that he had been unable to complete the surgery due to some very unexpected medical complications. He came to talk to me the day after surgery (although, I would have liked to have talked to him when I had come... [Click here for more] out of my "la-la land trip"!) Dr. Singh explained what had happened and told me that he wasn't ready to give up on my yet. So, I was left to heal with no banding!
I had a follow-up with my PCP one week post-op and he told me that he and Dr. Singh had been in touch with one another concerning my care plan. That made me feel a lot better. When I saw Dr. Singh for my 2 week post-op, he explained in even greater detail what he had found. We discussed the WLS options that were still open to us.
I found that not only is Dr. Singh a great surgeon, he is also a very caring and compassionate person. I think that both of these attributes are necessary for a doctor to possess. I will continue my journey with Dr. Singh with the utmost confidence in him and his skills.
Risks of the surgeries proposed were addressed in detail. There was ample time for questions and concerns to be addressed on both sides. Although the first meeting with Dr. Singh was more business, subsequent visits were more like meeting an old friend who hadn't been seen a while.
I am very at ease with Dr. Singh and his staff. The staff is wonderful at answering questions and working with the patient to achieve the best answers for any questions.
I would highly recommend this practice for bariatric surgery as well as general surgery.
**UPDATE*** I was able to have the VSG on May 6th. Dr. Singh was very patient with me during the three months from the discovery of my liver problem to the date of my VSG. He took the time to answer my emails and would phone me with answers if I needed them.
Everything went well with my surgery and again, Dr. Singh was the best I could ask for. Besides being the calming force that I needed prior to surgery, we were like old friends seeing one another again. I felt safe knowing that Dr. Singh would be taking care of me and that he would do the best that he could do. (And he did!)
Thanks to him and his caring staff, my new life has begun!

Dr. Singh was a very experienced and wonderful surgeon. He has a great personality, he's funny, and he knew what he was doing. He does his job well, he takes care of his patients! And he follows up! My first impression of Dr. Singh was that he was nice and he listened. The staff at Dr. Singh's office are the best. The nurse and dietician who work there are filled with so much information, it's incredible. The books and handouts they shared are never too far from me. They contain just about every answer to every question you will have before and after the surgery. It's great.
