Tell me what should I know about Dr. Machado I have read about all the positive comments and I am very impressed. But I have not heard anything about aftercare, or how long is the process before surgery. Posted on 11/28/2008 |

I have BC PPO and was limited to UC Davis staff or a COE in Sac. I went to the seminar at UCD and was ok with it. Then I went to Dr. Machado's seminar and it was "case closed"! What an affecting personality and utmost knowledge in her field. In addition, my cardiologist (who has had RNY), and the director of the Obesity Treatment Center that I had been affliated with for 20+ years both said to go to her rather than UCD. When I had my first consult, she took all the time I needed to answer my questions and those of my husband. She was very reassuring and also forthright. Wonderful person! Her staff is fantastic as well. I told them I work for a school district and if there was any way to schedule my surgery around Winter Break, it would be ideal. Well, they got me in to the... [Click here for more] nut. and psych with cancellations and I had all my other appts as fast as I could. My consult was 9/17 and my surgery will be 12/8! Also, I was watching a new show on the Discovery Channel on Monday, November 17 about obesity. There was my doctor talking about the disease and they showed her performing an operation. Not that my confidence in her needed to be boosted, but they would not have featured her without doing their homework and knowing what a great surgeon she is. I know I am in great hands!

I love my surgeon. Dr. Machado is the greatest doctor I have ever had. She is honest, and you need that with this procedure. She has realistic expectations which make maintaining easier. My entire experience has been perfect and I recommend her and staff to everyone. Posted on 04/06/2008 |

I really enjoyed talking with Dr. Machado on my first consult. Upon first impression I was satisfied with the Surgeon I chose. She's very down to earth and leaves you with no questions to ask. She's very friendly and very personable. I would recommend her to anyone who's willing to go through WLS. I had gone through Dr. Ludwig for my first consult back in the Spring of 2006 but to no avial due to insurance reasons. I finally found a surgeon who is under my insurance coverage, who I respect and trust...I'm so excited. I just saw Dr. Machado on 11/14/07. I sOOO happy I'm so much closer than I have been in the past.
My surgery was on March 10th and I still stand by what I have said about Dr. Marchado. Her and her Team are extremly great people and a great support team as well. Posted on 03/14/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Machado, was that she really seemed to know what she was talking about. Her office staff is very helpful and supportive. I knew the moment I met not only Dr. Machado, but Sandra and the rest of the staff that this was the surgeon for me. And I was RIGHT!! I was banded 10/06 at 288 lbs. I am now 210. I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been. If you listen to Dr. M and follow her instructions, you will be successful. The surgery was great, recovery even better. I have had ZERO complications and my scars are mostly gone. Attend her new patient seminar and you will see. Dr. M and Sandra have the best bed side manner of any doctor I have had. Also, Mercy San Juan, where she performs the surgery, all the nurses in the post-op rooms all know her, all love and understand 100% what you as a patient need and what you will be going thru. Her office kept calling me when I got home to check on me and see... [Click here for more] if I had any questions. I have friends that are banded and most when they go for check ups and fills, they never see their surgeon. I have seen Dr.M at every appointment. On a final note, her office staff are the insurance guru's. They handle my approval process 100% and it went off without a snag.

I first went to Dr. Machado's seminar & was very pleased with all the information that was available...& talking with Ruth in regards to insurance coverages, etc.
