When I first met Dr Blaney I thought here is a compassionate dr who is interested in his patients. He demonstrates this consistently whenever I see him. He is a great surgeon as I came through the surgery great and have had continued success as well as his support throughout everything so far. In the beginning he covered everything regarding the risks, and the outcome. The aftercare is great as he makes suggestions regarding vitamins and protein supplements to take. I knew from going to the first support group meeting in seeing him attend that you can tell he is interested in each of his patients having a successful outcome. WE didn't come all this way to fail and he is cheering each of his patients on from the sidelines I feel very lucky to have found such as great DOCTOR... [Click here for more] in Dr. Blaney.

What can I say about Dr. Blaney and his staff? I simply think they are the best.
I was nervous about meeting with Dr. Blaney for the first time, but he immediately put me at ease with his calm manner, and a great smile.
Education about WLS is a very important component of Dr. Blaney's practice. He and the staff want you to be well informed about the process from start to finish and aftercare.
I attended an informational meeting, and a family meeting at which he showed us an actual operation of the lap band, and the RNY. My husband and mother were in attendance, and were very impressed with Dr. Blaney, as they asked lots of questions and he answered them all.
I am looking forward to having the Lap Band on June 30, 2008.

Dr Blaney is awesome! My first visit, I was so nervous I could barely breath. Dr Blaney helped me to relax. He sat down and talked to me one on one and made me feel very comfortable. He is, by far, the best doctor that I have ever dealt with. I havent had my surgery yet, but if the first visits are any indication of his bedisde manner and after care, I can rest confidently knowing that I am in good hands!
Everyone in his office is terrific. Amy, the patient advocate, is truly an asset to his office. She is so helpful and interacts with every patient. Dr Blanry has a very great staff and network of doctors for pre-surgery testing. The nutrionist and psychologist were wonderful. They also have a very structured aftercare program which sounds promising!

Doctor Blaney, and his staff have been great and very helpful to me. I can say enought about the assistance and support I have received. I first met Dr. Blaney at St. Joseph Hospital back in 2004 as an employee. I knew that this surgeon had the skills necessary to do wonderful things. Dr. Blaney does his best to make sure you truly understand the process and what you are about to undertake. Gastric by-pass isn't a quick fix, it's truly a lifestyle change. Dr. Blaney was very likeable and had a great bed side manner. Dr. David Crist did my actual surgery, retired and I was assigned to Dr. Blaney for my post ops. He was very professional and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. I could discuss anything with him and not feel intimidated by him. It was conversating with a good friend. Now he is part of my family. I'm sure anybody wanting bariatric surgery could depend on Dr. Blaney for everything. He is very busy, and sometimes I just want to shake him. I got very sick 2 1/2 years after my surgery, due to the surgery itself, and he actually saved my life. I rate Dr. Blaney a 10 overall on surgical competence, bedside manner and good looks.
