So far so good. I really enjoyed the inservice, Dr. Storey provided. He kept the mood light hearted, but at the same time, answered all of our questions and reiterated that the lap-band is a tool and not a weight loss guarantee. I liked him and am planning on beginning my process with him later this month. Overall, I am confident in Dr. Storey, but I recommend that everyone do their own research and that goes for the procedure as well as the performing surgeon. Like Dr. Storey mentioned, this is a life long committment and anything short of that is not accpetable. Posted on 12/07/2007 |

My mom used to work for Dr. Storey and his group so I have grown up with all these people and they are great! Posted on 10/05/2007 |

The surgery was outstanding. I woke up from the anethesthia and wanted to know when they were going to start! I was ready to go home within 2 hours after waking up. I never ever used the PAP morphine pump because there was absolutely no pain. The surgery was done through 5 small incisions and I never even felt 1 minute of pain - I wasn't even uncomfortable and this doctor had just rearranged a great deal of my insides!
I was a little dissappointed in the doctors followup protocols, but in this day and age I guess taking care of yourself is the current state of medical technology. All in all the entire process was wonderful. I was the first Medicare patient that Dr. Storey did (when Medicare finally changed their definition of obesity from a personal choice to a full blown disease)... [Click here for more] and I do not think he will do many more as I am not too sure that as of this date he has been paid yet! All in all my experience was good, the results have been life saving and I am looking forward to that all important skin reduction surgery sometime in the fairly near future - IF - I can get Medicare to cooperate.

he is a very down to earth ,honest, person. he has always been upfront and brutally honest throughout the whole procedure. i had major complications with my RNY and he, i feel, saved my life. his staff is very informative, helpful and friendly. this man will lay the whole kit-n-caboodle on the table and tell you " how the cow ate the cabbage", so be ready to take it all in. this man saved life - enough said. I went to Dr.Storey's seminar and really liked him because he didn't kid around he layed it all out on the table. He told us the good the bad and the ugly. My impression of him hasn't changed any,all 3 times I saw him he gave me the opportunity to ask questions about the surgery. He told me that I was a highrisk patient and told me that I might have some complications, he doesn't beat around the bush,he tells u just like it is. Yes he does emphasize aftercare and has a very structured aftercare program. He will tell u if u listen to him and do what he tells u to do then u won't have as many complications. He is the surgeon and we are the patients,so we should listen to him. I would rate him as a 10. That being the best. I think that surgical competence and bedside manner are both... [Click here for more] just great...Thanks Dr. Storey for being my surgeon...Charlene buss

I was impressed with Dr. Storey the first time I called to make an appointment. His staff told me that I couldn't even see him without first attending his seninar on the surgery.
At the seminar he was very thorough and wanted to make sure all who attended understood the beauty, the drawbacks, and the hassles of the procedures.
He stresses aftercare and his demand of his patients to follow his instructions to the letter. His involvement eases my apprehension. Posted on 12/12/2005 |

I really liked Dr. Storey the first consult I had with him. He was totally frank with me,and I felt I would not be able to have the surgery due to some health issues. I have a huge hernia and most of the top muscle is torn away leaving a big gap in my adominal wall. He said it would be hard to suture me up, since there was no wall to adhere to. It would be up to the surgical binders to keep me together. My weight was also above 60 BMI. I lost 20lbs to have the surgery. I had the surgery weighting in at 293 lbs, and I am only 5 Ft tall. I was in the hospital for 7 weeks, all the complications he predicted for me came true. I was in the hospital for a month before being transferred to a long term care facility for the rest of my recovery. Dr Storey was always on top of the situation,... [Click here for more] every step of the way. I was scared, but knew I was in the best hands I could be in. I didnt know if I was going to live or not, but the scare was mostly in my mind. I eventually went home in the care of my husband who had been trained how to take care of me. My husband was great. I would do it all over again. I love Dr. Storey, I give him a big A+ for his care. I dread going in for his aftercare, he is really strict, and I know the areas I know he is going to ride me about. Water and Protein!!! The staff seemed very well organized little wait time in his office. I would highly recommend Dr. Storey to anyone, he is really on top of his game, and truthful, no sugar coating it. If he tells you you may have complications believe him, but if he tells you he can handle it, then go with it. You will be in good hands. I have no negative comments about Dr. Storey or his office at this time. Bayshore Hospital, well thats another topic.

My first impression of him was I really like this Dr. Storey. He tells you like it is!
The only thing I can say is the more I went for my appointments I liked him even more. He doesn't rush you to get out of his office.
What can I say WOW #1 in my books. Very kind staff.
There was nothing I disliked.
If you are considering WLS please check out Dr. Storey I don't think you'll be diappointed.
That is very important which I like because if I have any thing happening he will know right away. He's big on aftercare and I feel that is a big thing.
He has a forum every month for you to go to so you'll always have a support group.
His forum is very informing. It is a must to go to before he will even see you.
A-1 excellant
I think both are great because you'll have confidence going... [Click here for more] in and coming out of surgery.
