I was EXTREMELY comfortable with Dr. Marquez. My GYN recommended her and she couldn't have been more correct! I took my sister with me to ask any questions I might have forgetten...Not to mention ask the questions "SHE" needed to have answered.
She was impressed with the Dr. M as well.
Her office staff were so pleasant and welcoming. They knew me by name. I had spoken with them on a number of occassions prior to the actual appointment. Her nurse Jenna was great. She was witty and made me feel extremely comforatble.
Dr. Marquez answered all of my questions, she was not in a hurry, she took her time and was not at all uncomfortable when my sister had questions. She seemed so relaxed and "Real".
I was really pleased to hear she had only had to perform one revision... [Click here for more] in her career. That's so encouraging.
I truly appreciated her perspective of the Bariatric Surgery. She described it as a necessary choice as is Orthopedic or Heart surgery. That it is not "Cosmetic" surgery as some make it out to be.
Overall, Dr. M is a "10" in my book. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

This woman knows what she's doing. She's up front and doesn't dance around the subject with you. I appreciate that. Posted on 04/17/2007 |

I first met Dr. Marquez when she removed my gallbladder a few years ago. I didn't know she was doing WLS until I went to the seminar. I instantly knew she was going to be my surgeon. She's very knowledgeable and always has time for her patients. She has made me feel like I'm her concern and always calms me down and explains the questions I have. Her office staff is extremely friendly. I never feel like I can't call them and get the support I need. I only regret that Joy didn't stay with them but I truly understand.
Dr. Marquez has a very structured aftercare program and I am confident that her knowledge and skill I am good hands. Her bedside manner is awesome, too! Posted on 09/06/2006 |

Dr Marquez was my surgeon in Oct 2005. She was great. I really liked her when I first met her in Feb 2005. I had some insurance complications - Aetna making me do a 3 month program with my internist - but then got the go-ahead for surgery. Dr Marquez is very caring and very easy to talk to. Her staff is nice. I really liked Jerry the nutritionist. He's very helpful and easy to talk to. He even wants to know how you are doing when you call in months later. It is almost 1 year since surgery (9/06) and I am so glad i used Dr. Marquez! Posted on 09/04/2006 |

Dr. Marquez is really nice and she seems to know her stuff. She even has a bit of a sense of humor. Very good bedside manner. The office she works for is very thorough and informative. They make sure you know what decision you are making before you make do it. Posted on 04/11/2006 |

I really liked Dr. Marquez from our first meeting and am continually impressed with her. She's got a great bedside manner and very easy to talk to.
Her office staff is pretty good. Jerry is the nutritionist and is always available when I have questions. Joy is the nurse that I usually see when I'm there and she's great. She taught me how to do my B12 injections and has been great to work with. The only person I have issue with is Jenna. Jenna is the patient advocate, and I'm sure her job is not a fun one - dealing with all us anxious pre-ops and our insurance companies while trying to make sure the practice gets the operating income they need, but I found her to be unresponsive at times. She insisted that my insurance wasn't going to cover my surgery even after I received my approval... [Click here for more] letter and was a lot slower than I would have hoped in submitting all of my paperwork for approval. Because she didn't expect UHC to actually pay for my surgery, I had to put down a deposit of $2,000 for my surgery to cover whatever UHC didn't. The best part of that is I received a refund of $1,927 a few weeks ago.
Dr. Marquez places a great emphasis on after care. Seton Hospital provides a support group and all are encouraged to attend.
All risks were addressed up front with both myself and my husband.
I would rate Dr. Marquez a 10. I had no surgical or post-op complications and found her bedside manner to be excellent.

Dr. Marquez not only made me feel less nervous about my surgery but she made me feel safe. She is a very freindly and knowledgable Dr in her field. When my husband and I first met her I was so realived because she just reaches out to her patients and lets you know she does understand not only what the patient is going through but also what the family is going through. I honestly could not have asked for a better surgeon. I will definatly update further after my surgery. Posted on 02/15/2006 |

I met her at the seminar and was very impressed with her. She is very concerned and compassionate. She explained in detail the risks of the surgery and what to expect. She explained the aftercare and what she would expect from her patients. She is affiliated with Seton network in Austin and they are very structutred in their aftercare. I did check her out pretty throughly and found nothing but good about her. I feel like that she will be an excellent surgeon and she is close to my home (Taylor)Well I have got to know her a little better and I am still very impressed with her. She is very compassionate and truly cares about her patients. Posted on 01/19/2005 |
