After going through the "pre" WLS already once with another doc...I though that attending Dr. Nicholson's seminar was going to be a waste of time. WRONG! Dr. Nicholson holds his own seminars so you get to meet and get a feel for his knowledge base. My first impression was very high. I'm a medical professional myself, and I feel that he did a fantastic job answering questions and in explaining the procedure as a whole. I worked with Christina in the office. She was awesome. She's also a patient...who by the way looks fantastic!! Christina kept me up to date weekly on what was going on and what they needed. Dr. Nicholson worked with her in ordering extra labs and stuff that would make my submittal look just a bit better!! Great teamwork! My consultation went well also. Dr.... [Click here for more] Nicholson stressed the aftercare program as well as working very close with a dietician on staff. I will update more after the surgery...

I have researched bariatric surgeons in the Dallas, TX area and truly believe that Dr. Nicholson exceptionally well qualified and who I want to perform my surgery. He is the director over the bariatric program at Baylor-Dallas and Baylor-Plano. At the WLS seminar I attended, he spoke indepth about the risks/benefits of WLS verses continuing to live as a morbidly obese person. He spoke for 2 1/2 hours and answered every question from the attendees. My initial impression is that he is confident in his ability to help patients achieve their goals and has a very thorough aftercare program. I submitted my application for WLS and have received a response from the insurances specialists at his office in less than a week. I am very excited about moving forward toward WLS. Most importantly,... [Click here for more] and most exciting to me, is my husband, who intially said I was crazy to consider WLS, is now himself wanting to have WLS! I am looking forward to a long, healthy life together!!

I was very impressed with Dr Nicholson and his staff. They make you feel very comfortable and at ease and there is no pressure to committ. They are funny and kind and very caring. If you have any questions or fears they are always ready and willing to answer your questions and ease your fears. If they don't have the answers they will find you someone who can.
Elizabeth is the staff nutritionist and she provides with all the information you will need to have a successful weight loss before and after surgery.
Hospital care during the surgery and after has been great! The people I have dealt with at Baylor have become friends. I have had other surgeries and the care I received in the other hospitals was nothing compared to the wonderful nurses and staff that took care of... [Click here for more] me at Baylor Plano.
I would highly recommend Dr Nick and Baylor Plano to anyone considering this type of surgery!

His staff is easy to work with and while you have to work to get the info to them they are taking care of the submitting and such. They also call back within reasonable amounts of time.
After meeting him at the office, he had a good air about him. He's honest which I like, he's pretty funny which makes me feel better. He tells it like it is such has him saying you can't eat everything and there is only so much he can do to help you, you must do this on your own. His bedside manner is great fun and upbeat.
I meet with him at the Balyor Plano hospital and it's a very nice place. I felt welcome there and the staff is very nice. I felt very comfortable during my short stay.
Dr. Nicholson's assistant saw me 1.5 weeks after surgery and everything looked ok. A few days... [Click here for more] later I've developed a reaction to the glue and have had some issues. I was able to get a hold of Dr. Nicholson very easily and saw him quickly.

Dr. Nicholson and his team have been and still are very supportive. They provided information that allowed me to make an informed decision about my surgery. Also, the after surgery programs (nutrrition counseling, physical therapy and support group) set me and his other patients up for success.
I highly recommend attending one of his surgery seminars where Dr. Nicholson talks about what to expect before and after surgery. He explains the pros and cons to each type of surgery. Posted on 01/20/2008 |

From the very first informational session I attended in June 2007, to the second one I brought my husband to in November 2007, to my consult, Nick Nicholson continues to stand head and shoulders above any surgeon I've researched for this procedure.
He's extremely well-mannered and approachable, he spends time answering ALL your questions, and his approach to WLS is balanced and based on what's based for each patient's unique needs.
I feel like I'm in the best possible hands. Posted on 01/05/2008 |
