I haven't met with Dr. Anez yet this time around. However, I did meet with him the last time I was scheduled for surgery. Experience and numbers are on his side. He is very straight forward - and matter of fact. He explains the surgery to you very thoroughly and answers any questions that you have. What a wonderful experience! I can't begin to tell Dr. Anez, Tiffany and Sally how grateful I am for their assistance. They are truly some of the best people I have come across in my life. After a much needed changing of staff pre-surgery, I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing about the whole process.
I chose Dr. Anez because I was told by a handful of people that he was the best in the area. Even nurses at Fair Oaks Hospital said they would go through Dr. Anez if they had to have RNY surgery.
I am also happy that Dr Anez chose OPEN as opposed to laproscopic. My scar looks amazing, being only 3.5 weeks out and its clear that this man is in the top of his field.
Aftercare is incredible, meeting about 4-5 times in your first 3 months with Tiffany the PA and Sally... [Click here for more] the nutritionist. And they both answer any questions you have via e-mail!

When I first met Dr. Anez, I was so afraid of the surgery and what would be done - he took time to explain the procedure fully and to also explain what life would be like for me after the RNY.
After some staffing changes, I have to say that the team at the Obesity Surgery Center is absolutely great! Tiffany and Sally provide my aftercare and both have been very helpful with my journey so far. Posted on 08/25/2008 |

It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Anez! From what I understand, he is one of the very best Bariatric surgeons in the country.That is why I chose him! In spite of being in great demand, he took the time to fully explain my surgery and advise me of the benefits as well as any discomforts or risks that may be involved. He made sure I understood that I would need to be starting a new way of life, beginning with a new and appropriate way of eating. Regular exercise and good eating habits would be imperative to maintain my new stomach and to experience the great results I hope to see and most importantly feel!!! Dr. Anez said," if I do this surgery you will be my patient for life!!"
Dr. Anez had a genuinely friendly smile and after my consultation I knew I was in the best possible hands.... [Click here for more] Sally Meyers, his Nutritionist is really top notch! She is very easy to talk to and has already given me some great suggestions that I am already puting to use well before my surgery. She also conducts a support group called the Staple club that is really really helpful!! My primary care physician was especially excited about all of the support resources available through Dr. Anez's office.
The office staff is excellent too. I was especially impressed with how helpful Carlena was with guiding me through the insurance requirements!
For the first time in my life, I felt comfortable
sharing my personal weight related issues.

Dr. Anez tends to make things short, sweet & to the point. Not the greatest if you want to really sit and have a lengthy chat but he has always been very friendly and answered all my questions. Have had good days & bad days in my dealings with teh staff but there have been some changes over the years and I figure everyone has tough days. Dr.Anez is such a kind hearted person. His smile and kind face gives you comfort and a sence of calmness when you meet him.
He seems to be the best at what he does. I find comfort in him proforming one type of surgery. He knows it and he knows it well.
I have all the confidence In Dr. Anez and his staff.
Tiffany his Physican Assistiant is wonderful she is easy to talk with and is very informative.
He has had a large trun over in his office staff.
But the team they now have is wonderful,

Dr. Anez knows what he does. He was very patient drawing and showing me how the surgery was going to be. Very smart, calm and carismatic.

My impression is that Dr. Anez has a well organized office and is an excellent surgeon wtih a good track record. I have to go to his office every other week for the first 3 months. He was very up front about the risks of surgery but said he had a very low complication rate. He requires his patients to have a very thorough physical evaluation before surgery so there are no surprises. Posted on 02/29/2008 |
