My first impression was very comforting. We discussed our Faith in Christ which made me very comfortable to be in his care.
He went through alot of trouble to rearrange his schedule and get me in sooner than his next available surgery appt since I was canceled with Valley Medical Center the day before my preop appt.
My surgery is scheduled for Oct 1, 2008. Posted on 10/13/2008 |

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Landerholm!!!
Honestly just felt so right for me, he was genuine, caring approachable and real with me. Made me feel so comfortable. On the day of surgery he came and sat with me and my family and it was so reasurring and again comfortable. The staff at Puget Sound Surgical Center are wonderful people they treat you like a family member, all of them. I recommend Dr.Landerholm and his center if your considering WLS. Thanks Dr. Landerholm from the bottom of my heart! Posted on 07/14/2008 |

So far I like him a lot. I like the way he thinks and that he listens to me. What I like the most is that he doesn't babytalk me or sugar coat the truth in our consults. Yep, so far I like him a lot. Posted on 04/05/2008 |

My surgeon is GREAT! I still get to usually see him on a monthly basis while @ my fills, if he does not do them himself. He is VERY personable and my husband and I took a liking to him from the first meeting we had. His office gals are great!!. I go to the Bellingham office, as it is closest to my home, and I was able to have my surgery done in Bellingham as well, and that made for a short and smooth transition home following my procedure. Puget Sound Surgical Center offers GREAT after care, and both they and their nutritionists insure that all is well and we are nutritionally sound.
The risks of surgery were addressed, and I knew them full well, but I particularly liked when he said that of the many surgeries he performs, he likes the Lap Band the best, because not only is it... [Click here for more] a walk in the park for him to perform, but it is one that he KNOWS will change lives for the better, and that is very rewarding for him.
Surgical competence is certainly something I looked for, but bedside manner is very important, too, since I knew he and I would be working together, and his staff, too, to insure my success.
My husband was impressed and one of the first things he told me upon waking in recovery was that Dr Landerholm took pictures, and gave them to him. Pretty neat to see the liver, and one with my band firmly in place.

Dr. Landerholm is extremely personable. The office is experiencing growing pains so my phone calls were not returned by the office staff and processing my items through insurance was frequently dropped.
However, with persistance from me, everything got done eventually. The person at the front desk was "adament" that the office manager got my requests because they were handed to him, but when I finally got through, he had no idea who I was or what I was talking about.
Dr. Landers assisted Dr. Landerholm with the surgery. Dr. Landers is the one that has the extensive experience with the sleeve.
Aftercare is extremely important at the Puget Sound Surgical Clinic. I'm not overly impressed with the nutritionist. I felt like she just read me the pamplet she was giving me pre-op.... [Click here for more] But this could be due to working with some awesome Nutritionists in the past.
The dr.s were worried it woudl turn into an open proceedure and contstantly emphasized the risks so I knew what I was getting into.
Add to the issue that the surgery coordinator went on vacation and I ended up being "processed" by someone who had no experience and didn't listen to the answers she just got to her question.
All of these red flags would have made me run to a different dr. if I hadn't met the dr. already and knew from Jenn her experiences with the dr.
Because they are so good, it causes growing pains. Ultimately, they were the ones to go with though.

Dr. Landerholm is phenomenal. Not only is he a genuine guy but also a great surgeon. His staff is great, his RNs are super great and his nutritionist, Melanie is the best I have ever met, she absolutley knows her stuff. I was a private pay (best $ ever spent) so the process was very smooth. Post surgery, it can be confusing but Dr. Landerholm has been involved with giving me those answers...which means he really does know and care for his patients. It is very hard to cover every aspect prior to surgery so you really have to be on your game after surgery and make sure you are asking the questions that you need answered, WHEN you need them answered.
His bedside manner is superb and surgical competence is above the rest, trust me, I did my investigating. Overall, Dr. Landerholm... [Click here for more] is the best choice for LAP BAND in the Northwest.

Dr. Landerholm is very genuine and caring. Once I met with him and his staff my fears of surgery just kind of went away. The main focus is the aftercare and starting of a new life for the patient. They make sure to stress enough how this surgery is just giving a tool and it will take a lot of a hard work to make the tool work but that they would be there by your side to help guide you through it. The only negative thing so far was communication from the office staff in the very first step of this process (knowing if they had sent in insurance information) but after that I personally have had no problems.
