I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Blackstone. It took me almost a year into my process to finally meet her, but meeting her and seeing how much knowledge and experience she brings, made me feel more confident about the surgery. She's developed her style from experience and seeing what works. She's very nice to talk to, she even spoke to my Spanish speaking parents in Spanish.
I am one month out and so far I have no had no problems. I barely felt any pain after surgery, a way better experience than I had imagined. The staff knows what they're doing and Dr. Blackstone provides a great after care program, to not only change you physically, but also mentally by educating each patient thoroughly.

I was impressed with the level of professionalism and knowledge of Dr. Blackstone when I attended the initial seminar detailing bariatric surgery. My impression has not changed at all and found Dr. Blackstone to be a very caring person. The office staff has been outstanding and has made my experience with the surgery less stressful. I have nothing but the most absolute respect for Dr. Blackstone, I feel she has given me a new lease on life. Dr. Blackstone has a very structured aftercare program and has helped me tremendously with the stresses that comes after surgery. Dr. Blackstone was very honest about the risks of surgery and answered all my questions during my pre-op visit with her. I would rate Dr. Blackstone a 10 on a scale of 1-10. I would also like to say that Dr. Sprunger, Melissa and Randy were fantastic and all made a point of checking up on my during my hospital stay. I first met Dr. Blackstone at the wls seminar I attended and thought she was very articulate and extremely knowledgable. I have not changed my opinion.
Her office staff are very friendly and knowledgable.
Dr. Blackstone has a very busy practice to be prepared to have to do a little waiting for appointments. For me, this time just gave me the time I needed to research and prepare.
She has a very comprehensive aftercare program that addresses your nutritional, physical, and emotional needs very thoroughly. There are classes you attend both before and after surgery, optional support groups, and access to your nutritionist and physical therapist.
She was very straight forward about all the risks involved with surgery both in person and in writing.
I love Dr.... [Click here for more] Blackstone. She is an excellent surgeon who cares about her patients. My surgery went very well and I am very happy with it. I am very satisfied with Dr. Blackstone and her office and I would highly recommend her.

Great on first impression, then other then surgery never saw her again.
She has very capable staff on all levels.
My impression changed due to never seeing her again till surgery and never after that.
I liked her fine for the interaction I had.
Her program is very good and very comprehensive.
She is not a hand holder. Staff does all followup.
There is structured before and aftercare.
All risks were answered in before seminars.
on scaleof 1-10 I would rate her as a 9
I say all in all since I can not compare her to others, that all aspects of service and care wher very good
Hospital situation was not as good. I found the enviroment in the hospital as not very conducive to being even the least comfortable or pleasent. I was very glad to leave, the nurses when I saw them... [Click here for more] were pleasent the room was horrid.

This is my personal experience with Dr. Blackstone's office. I've researched available physicians throughout Arizona. Dr. Blackstone comes so highly recommended - from my neighbor, an RN working at Scottsdale Healthcare-Shea to a co-worker who got banded last year (she looks great by the way!) I attended the seminar, received insurance approval (on the first try!) and submitted my completed packet after 2 months of work compiling all the info. The office calls to inform me they won't take me as a patient because I had a previous surgery NOTE: this was done in 1987 - 20 years ago! No explanation, no recourse to ask for an exception, nothing. Only reason given is Dr. B. is "too busy to take on any cases that may require any extra procedure". Needless to say I'm disappointed to... [Click here for more] be shot down without any options to reassess my case. Evidently Dr. B has gotten too busy to care about people; they’ve done a great PR job but now only seem to care about the money.

My first impression of Dr Blackstone was that she was very genuine and really wants to help her patients. My impression only became stronger. The office staff were friendly and helpful. I liked that she was confident and knowlegable. You should know that Dr Blackstone is worth driving over two hours to be part of her proven protocols and methods. She stongly enphasizes aftercare. Her aftercare program as well as her pre-op program is very strict and thourough. She took her time to seriously review the risks of surgery. I would rate Her a 100 out of 10 she is GREAT! I'm not very happy with them anymore. They are very busy with new patients and as a older patient (i had surgery 2 years ago), I feel as if I am getting shafted. I just tried to make an appointment for a fill today and was told that I had to wait 2 months for the next available appointment! Posted on 04/03/2008 |
