Hola mi nombre es Emilie Medellin hace dos meces me decidi a dar un cambio a retomar mi vida y el control definitivo de mi peso , el Dr. Rios fue mi primer contacto para llegar a este paso el pertenece al grupo de Obesity good bye center de tijuana mexico , fue muy amable al proporcionarme seguridad y confianza para el poseso , despues de eso el Dr. Sergio Verboonen me opero el 10 de Mayo pasado , mi recuperacion fue casi imediata y sobretodo segura , me siento de maravilla hasta ahora he logrado cambios en mi vida personal y fisica el apoyo y cuidado de ellos ha sido presindible p[ara lograrlo que estoy haciendo ahora gracias obesity!!! ahora me falta darles las gracias y recomendarlos ampliamente ya que todo fue super desde el momento que llegue hasta ahora super profesional , limpio... He was nice and personable.
He also was compassionate.
His office is great. They go out of their way to make you feel important.
That I couldn't speak Spanish.
He had the band as well and knows what your going through.
They call you to check and see how you are doing. Aftercare could improve.
He explained the procedure very well.
Overall I would rate him a 8 out of 10.
Both are great but competence is more important.

I met Dr. V and he was very pleasant. All of the other members of the surgical team was there also. I was very impressed with how clean and organized the clinic was. I liked how the doctors chipped in if the nurses were busy. They did not act like they were too good to do take a blood pressure. They were extremely knowledgeable about many of the bands and different procedures. The hospital was so comfortable. It was a small hospital so it didn't feel like the nurses were too busy to help me. They were very quick to respond to my every call. Others were constantly cleaning. The rooms were very modern, but homey. The doctors visited very often which made me feel like they weren't "too busy" to see me. They took their time answering my questions and made sure I understood. I was very... [Click here for more] happy with my surgery and the care I received.
The only thing I could complain about would be that not all of the surgeons were able to speak English so one of the nurses had to translate. And since there were 6 of us patients in the clinic at the same time, the nurses were confused as to our names because they did not put any kind of identification on us. I suggested that they at least use name tags to make it easier for the nurses.
I will not have to go back to Mexico for followups as the surgeons travel to Baton Rouge every few weeks to meet with their American patients. But I would like to see them come to a more centralized location for those further North.

The entire staff at ObesityGoodbye very friendly and caring. You feel this from the minute you walk in the door. A majority of the staff speaks english and there is not a language barrier. Dr. Verboonen himself is very well spoken and knowledgeable of his profession. Aftercare is well documented as Dr. Rios, Dr. Fryre or Betty will call and check on you. I had a wonderful experience with Doctor V. He spent a lot of time with my husband and me, explaining and making sure we knew exactly what to expect. He was kind and spoke English very well. Best surgeon I have ever had. He also works out of a hospital in Cancun, if you would rather go there. His staff was very friendly and the small hospital where the surgery was performed in Tijuana was very clean. Only wished I knew more Spanish so I could have communicated with the nurses more. There whole staff was great, they all spoke English very well. I had a patient Ad. who spoke fluent Spanish, so there were no communication problems... I would recommend them to anyone. Posted on 08/28/2007 |

I got say that my Surgeoon's are all the best. At the Clinic Obesity Goodbye in Tijuan people are amazing, a lot of warmness of heart. My experience was so great that if have to doit again I will do with my eyes close.
I found this place thrumy friend who had the surgery done.
Everything there at the clinic was great, the drivers ( Carlos and Julio) Thanks a lot!-
Rocio and Beatriz welcomes you at the clininc an you feel inmeditely like at home. The doctors are so humble, so personable,...they visit me everyday at the clinic, call me at the hotel to see if I was okay.
I'm so amaze with the great service and profesionalism with every single person at the clinic.
The doctors identifed so welll with me, with my situation. Very sweet people!

Dr Verboonen and his staff are very professional and were able to answer all of my questions. They explain the risks and also emphasize that this is a tool not a magic pill. you have to follow the rules!. I had surgery on 7/13/06 the hospital was very clean; the recovery rooms are not super high tech but very adequate for this type of surgery. The operating room on the other hand looked just as high tech as any ive seen in the states so you certainly will be in good hands. The only slight negative is that the nursing staff does not always speak much English, I speak fluent Spanish so communication was not a problem for me, but something to consider. The hotel room they provided was great I had a beautiful view of the golf course, room service was very good. I am only a few days... [Click here for more] into this so haven’t needed any after care but they do have aonline forum monitored by the staff that you can join.
I certainly have no qualms about recommending this doctor
