Wow when I first met with Dr Vaimakis I was really impressed with her level of understanding obesity and the obsity patient. She took time to discuss the whole procedure on my first visit, which she did not charge me for and also agreed at that time to monitor my weight for six or seven months that my insurance company needed prior to authorizing my surgery. I was then even more impressed with her when I went to the lap band/RNY Seminar that was held in January and she was not fazed at all by crying jumping children as she explained the procedure. I would have not handled that as well, but she was a professional down to the end. Thats when I finalized my decision to have the surgery. Her staff, Stella, Lellie and Sandra are all great assets. I have been working with physicians/surgeons for the last 22 years and I know what good bedside manner is and what makes a doctor great and Dr Vaimakis is definitely been the epitome of all those things.Her office staff is great and you can tell they have great confidence in Dr Vaimakis. They are excellent and I highly recommend Dr Vaimakis to anyone that would ask about my surgical experience.

Dr Viamakis is an excellent surgeon. I had lap band with her in 2006 I was 240 pounds and now I am 155pounds. I went to many surgeons to inquire about lap band surgery and they all wanted to do gastric bypass on me. I was approved by another surgeon for gastric bypass and slated for surgery but decided for sure that gastric bypass was not for me... i canceled my surgery for gastric bypass and asked that surgeon to consider lap band surgery for me and the surgeon got mad and told me no. I called Dr Viamakis andrnshe was very supportive and she told me that she would do lap band for me. My husband former Marine, now pushing 300 pounds has decided that he wants the lap band surgery. Hi ,This is Andrew Roberts and I had my Lap-Band surgery two weeks ago and I am feeling amazing.To anyone looking to chose a Dr.and an office to do the surgery if you dont choose Dr.Vaimakis your making a mistake.I saw many doctors but I knew from the first time I saw and met Dr.Vaimakis that she was my choice.I have never been associated with a Doctor who is as sweet and caring about her patients as she is.When I had the surgery she was there to visit me in the hospital both days,any questions that needed answering were given an immediate response.When my mom had a question she left a message and a call was returned within ten minutes.Like I said you will never find a doctor who cares as much... [Click here for more] as Dr.Vaimakis does.Now that was the surgery part,leading up to the surgery there is alot work to do and Sandra made it very easy and handled all the situations with the insurance company,and made sure everything was covered..Sandra,was always there for any question.From experience no other office does this,they make you do your own calls.I am not an easy person to deal with and Stella in one word was simply amazing,she set everything up for all my tests,and explained everything to me.I spoke to her five times a day and with any question I had she was always there for me.I couldnt ask for a better Doctor or a nicer office to work with.I look foward to my first adjustment.Thanks to everyone in the office who I didnt mention,and thank you again for making this experience so smooth.

I have been seeing Dr. Vaimakis since I had my surgery for a Lap Band about four years ago. I thought I was doing rather well kept off my weight loss through the years (something I was never able to do before). Dr. Vaimakis picked up immediately on some problems that I was having sent me for testing to see if the band had slipped. When Dr Vaimakis found the band did slip she was so supportive first to explain the issues and the alternatives I had; I chose to replace the band with a new more up dated one. I went into the hospital on Friday Dr. Vaimakis visited me over the weekend each day and spend all the time I needed to answer any of my questions I had the band replaced on Mon Dr. Vaimakes visited me everyday in the hospital; she called myu family right after the operation to let... [Click here for more] them know all went well (including removing a hernia which I had) I left the hopsital on Friday with no pain from the band replacement. Dr Vaimakis has been caring and has given me a lot of support always on call for me she and her whole staff is caring and interested in everyone they see. I had bariatric surgery on January 27 2009rnrnDr Vamakis made the experience less stressful with her easy going way. Her office staff is very easy to work with. Dr. V was very up front with me explaining the risks and explaining what exactly to expect before and after surgery.rnrnShe visited everyday and although the days immediately after surgery and weeks to follow are challenging, she tells you like it is...This is what is going to be...and it is what she said it is. Dr. Vaimakis is an excellent surgeon. She not only cares about the weight loss before and after surgery but she wants to make sure you are feeling your best and the ways she has helped me are innumerable. When I first met Dr. Vaimakis I was very nervous. I wasn't sure of what type of questions she was going to ask me, especially regarding my weight history. I had done so much damage to myself from taking diet pills, doing liquid diets and failing at all these quick diet fads. Dr. Vaimakis made me feel so comfortable, I felt like I was just talking to one of my closest friends about my weight struggle. In my mind I felt that once the surgery was over I would be stress free and it would be an easy road, but of course the Dr. Vaimakis warned me of all the things that could happen with the band. She explained to me that this is just a tool to aide in weight loss and I have to be totally committed to the process. Her office staff are very pleasant and easy going. My approval came so fast... [Click here for more] that I couldn't believe it. I think if they didn't work so hard to get me approved I might have changed my mind about the surgery. On the day of my surgery Dr, Vaimakis was right there making sure everything was going smoothly before I went into the operating room. She always greets her patients with a smile and that just makes you feel like she is genuinely concerned about your well being. I have already recommended people to use her as a surgeon because there is nobody else I would trust.

I had my lap band surgery in October and already have shed 30 pounds. Dr. Vaimakis is an excellent surgeon with the patients best interest at heart. The staff is wonderful too! My Lap Band surgery date was on November 12, 2008 and was a total success. I can't thank Dr. Vaimakis and her staff enough for their support and encouragement as I was going thru a life changing process. My original weight was 471 lbs in May 2008. They really showed me how sincere they were about your health and well being as this was a very difficult process to endure from my point of view. Their caring of their patients is amazing and I 've never seen such caring. I would absolutely recommend anyone that is severely overweight and alot of medical issues due to their weight should consult with Dr. Vaimakis and her staff...Lely, Sandra and especially Stella who really helped me out over the last 6 months not only coordinating my doctors clearances but her genuine support of me really...
