Does anyone know where we can find Dr Moon now that he's no longer at Arnot? I would really like to continue my care with him. I'm willing to travel. Please contact me or reply as I'm sure many others would like to continue their care with him as well.
He's an amazing Dr and I trust him completely. He made me feel so confident that everything was going to work out great and made me feel very comfortable with all my most intimate/personal questions. I'm five months post op now and I'm due for a followup in Jan. I've lost 68 pounds and I couldn't be happier! Posted on 11/12/2008 |

My first impression of Dr. Moon, was that he was caring, understanding, and assuring of the pro's and con's of having the surgery. I felt very comfortable with my choice of having a laporscopic RNY. My first impression of Dr. Moon has not changed, he is no longer affiliated with the hospital where I had the surgery, and I wish him the best luck on his next adventure. Very caring MD before the surgery, he provided great care after my surgery, and post - op visits. I would rate Dr. Moon a 10...I love my results from the surgery. I really love Dr. Moon. He has the best bed side manners and he is so pleasant. My impression has never changed about him from day one I was happy with him from the day I met him. He also has proformed my scope test which went so smooth better then when my gastro. doctor did it. Dr. Moon did my surgery plus many others I've talked with. Everyone that I've talked with has been so happy with him. I'm sad to know he is no longer with Arnot and I hope he stays in the area and I can see him as my acting doctor. He has always been friendly and professional. Courteous and kind. Very satisfied with my choice this far.
UPDATE: I am now post op and home. Dr. Moon made this whole experience so much better for me. He made me feel so comfortable, and eased my wories when I was terrified in the hospital. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Very knowledgeable, and great at what he does. If he is an option for you, he is the way to go. Posted on 07/22/2008 |

Dr. Moon is very personable. The staff is very helpful through the whole process. I was debating between a lapband or RNY and Dr. Moon thoroughly explained the positives and negatives of both options. I thought every thing through for one month before making the decision that the RNY would be the better choice for me. When I returned to Dr. Moon to relate my decision he asked me my reasons for that decision. When I gave him my explanations, he said he totally agreed with everything I said and also recommended the RNY. The insurance company denied my surgery on the first go round and Dr. Moon was right on the phone with the director of my insurance company and then called me directly to bring me up to date. He went to bat for me and got the surgery approved in the long run.... [Click here for more] I would highly recommend him for anyone in the area considering a lap RNY.

I met with Dr. Moon this morning for my initial consult, I was absolutley comfortable with him as was my husband...he is very soft spoken yet informative...he smiles and has a great personality...seems very confidant and I like that. I will continue with this journey. Posted on 04/29/2008 |

Dr. Moon is clearly very competent and kind, and this impression has not changed at all since my first visit with him in Aug. '07. I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 7, 07, so this process has been fast and not at all problematic. The office staff (especially Angie, Sandy, and Colleen) has been just as wonderful as Dr. Moon - so far an all-around excellent experience. I am very hopeful that the lap gastric bypass will go just as perfectly as all of the pre-op care. When I first met Dr. Moon, it made me nervous that he had just started out doing the surgery a year ago, but he showed how competent and knowledgable he is, making any worries I had go away. After my endoscopy with Dr. Moon, I was even more confident that I had chosen the right surgeon - he was efficient and kind throughout... [Click here for more] the process. In regard to the aftercare, it is very structured and does not leave the patient feeling left out in the cold wondering what to do, as is the case with other offices that do weight loss surgery. Dr. Moon stressed the importance of following the aftercare program and relying on the staff at Arnot Medical for support and information. I would very highly recommend this doctor and his staff to anyone considering this surgery.

Dr. Moon seems to be a very gentle person and I was really impressed by the amount of time he spent with my husband and me at my first consultation. He explained the options, really listened to my reasoning for wanting a lap band instead of the bypass and seemed not at all rushed in answering the 5000 questions my husband and I had. He also gave me an assignment--to lose 23 pounds and get my BMI below 50 before surgery. It helped a lot when we discovered that he and my primary doc had gone to the same medical school.
Dr. Moon's office is very pleasant with a nice mix of larger chairs set up in such a way that it isn't really noticeable. It's a pretty big place since there are about 4 (not sure of that number but its close) docs all sharing space.
I haven't seen him since... [Click here for more] then but his very capable and friendly staff took over from there. It seemed really effortless getting through the process with the various people I had to see. They were all nice, most especially Angie, the NP, who did my physical. Somehow I didn't expect it all to be so matter of fact!
My only real complaint at the moment is the distance I have to travel to get there. I live about 90 miles away, which makes it hard in a lot of ways. I also have the impression that the next time I actually see the doctor will be on surgery day and I wish there was one more pre-op visit.

My first impression of Dr. Moon was that he was young and handsome. I felt very at ease talking with him. I am very confident in his abilities. He has been so thorough with everything leading up to my surgery. I started seeing him in January. His office staff are all very friendly and attentive. I was very impressed with the fact that after some blood work Dr. Moon called me himself. He told what they found and that he wanted me to take this medicine cocktail. He explained what each of the pills were and what they were for. The pharmasist informed me that Dr. Moon also called the prescription in himself which is very rare. I had to have a scope done which Dr. Moon performed. He was very informative and pleasant that morning when I came in. He put me right at ease. He called... [Click here for more] me when he had the results of the scope again himself. I just cannot stress to you how impressed I am with him. My surgery is scheduled tomorrow 07/19/07. The only possible negative thing I can say is I believe that I am the first lap-band that Dr. Moon is performing at Arnot Ogden. This is not really negative though. I am very excited and I am not nervous about this at all. I know that he will do his absolute best. I am in great hands. :) So far overall I would rate Dr. Moon as a 10. I will let you know more tomorrow. Would I recommend Dr. Moon at this point? Absolutely. He has been Awesome. Thanks Dr. Moon...
Ok I had my surgery today. I ended up being his second one. I just want to tell you that my opinion has not changed. Doctor Moon is top notch. Dr Moon came and talked to me before and after the surgery. He has just put me at ease. He told me if I needed anything or had any questions to get the nurses to call him. He will be in to see me tomorrow. I have been up and walked around. Been to the bathroom. I have not had very much pain. My stomach just feels like I did a few to many sit-ups. I am so glad that I found doctor moon in my search. The whole staff at Arnot Ogden have been wonderful. My only complaint is I was settled in to a room and at 1 something in the morning they came and made me move for someone else to have the room. Was a little upset with this as I was comfortable and had my stuff organized. They took me another room and just kind of left me to organize again. I do not have a button to call the nurse as they never gave it to me so I am hoping they stop in sooner or later. Over all it has been a very good experience.
