Dr. Neal performed my surgery April 9th, 2003 in Shelton. It has been the best thing I have ever done for myself! I have so far lost 165 lbs! I would do it again in a heartbeat especially with Dr. Neal and all of his staff. They are all so wonderful and caring. Every time I went there to see Dr. Neal, every person there really made me feel like they cared about me and my surgery. Peggy, the bariatric coordinator is the best of all she is truly a friend, and someone that takes a real interest in all the patients, putting them at ease and making this as comfortable process as possible. Dr. Neal also is great with all the patients, he just exudes understanding and compassion. I would reccomend them to everyone! Posted on 08/27/2008 |

Dr. Neal is avery friendly guy. I always hate meeting Dr.'s because of my obeisity, but I felt very comfortable with him. He has a busy office, with a lot going on there for the patients. I love how he veiws this surgery. He loves performing a surgery that corrects or prevents so many ailments. I agree. For aftercare, he has you see his nurse. I'm sure if there were a problem, then he would meet with you. I had a concern the night after surgery and he called me back immediatly. He went over all the risks of surgery, and how to use the band as a tool. He also talked about the things that could cause failure. I think DR. Neals surgical competence and his bedside manner are both top rate. I'm a very happy patient. Posted on 08/02/2008 |

First impression was that he is kind and cares about his patients. My impression has stayed the same. The office staff is awesome! Just go see him and see for yourself! Aftercare seems to be very important. It is very structured. Dr. Neal explained the risks of surgery very well, I think he covered everything. Overall rating 10/10!
Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great! Posted on 06/14/2008 |

1. Very personable, kind and gentle.
2. Same. Makes me feel like I am important.
3. Office staff very personable and understanding. Many are successful lap-banders.
4. Can't think of anything!
5. I would recommend him highly.
6. Very important. If I try to postpone an appointment the office staff is very concerned.
7. I think so.
8. Risks were emphasized both at the free seminar as well as my first consult verbally and in writing.
9. Nothing but the best!
10. Both are necessary.
My surgeon required that I have "cardiac clearance" prior to my surgery because of an episode of atrial fibrillation in my past. The possible referral to a cardiologist was not handled well by the surgeon's office and there was miscommunication that almost affected my surgery date. However, after... [Click here for more] an impassioned plea to my surgeon's office manager, the problem was corrected and I received a sincere apology.

When I went to the seminar that Dr. Neal gave, I knew I wanted him to be my surgeon. He was very hands on and seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. His office and staff were warm and inviting and made me feel at home.
Dr. Neal performed my lapband surgery on August 10th, 2007 and did a wonderful job! He made sure my friends and family knew how I was and kept them up to speed on what was going on...
I would rate him 11 out of 10 and recommend him to anyone that is interested in starting this journey.
GREAT Doctor! Very happy that I chose him! Posted on 08/17/2007 |

My first impression about Dr. Neal was a casual attitude. To me it set a humble mood for his seminar. He explained things in great detail and he made you feel that your health AND your needs were always the most important aspect during the discussion of your surgery.
I loved his office staff before I had even attended a seminar. Each gal I talked to in the office was very personal and made you personally feel like you were valid in your feelings and the struggle that led you to their office.
I was even more tickled to find out that several of his staff had been patients of his BEFORE they were employees.
I felt that every aspect of the before, durings and after surgery programs were talked about in great detail. I also liked the fact that his private pay cost included... [Click here for more] everything you need to be successful. As a private pay patient, I can see him or the staff as much as I need. No question too great or small.
He is confident in his skill, his team and the outcome. The manner in which he treats his patients is superb. His caring manner shows.

I really enjoyed having Dr.Neal perform my surgery. He was very professional, yet he also had a great bedside manner. I also love all the staff in his office! They are wonderful and made me feel so completely comfortable.Their office was clean, and well-organized. Karen, the receptionist was so polite and remembered my name. That was something I didn't think medical offices did anymore! Not Dr. Neal's girls! They are a super cool staff who seems more like a family than a medical office!! Michelle is great too. She's been through the sugery herself, so her information is priceless and they are all just so vey helpful. They all went through the risks of surgery and asked me lots times if I had any questions. Out of 10, I'd give Dr. Neal and his girls a 9. He definitely knows what he's... [Click here for more] doing and so does his staff.

My first impression of Dr Neal was WOW a surgeon that is a "real" person. He talked to me not at me. Complimented the information I had gathered for him to work with. He explained everything and even showed me photos of a prior surgery when I was having trouble visualizing something. He went above and beyond any expectations. I feel I have made an excellent choice and that I am in great hands.
His office staff is equally as nice. The young lady I spent a good deal of time with is banded her self and gave me some good personal insight into how things changed for her and what to expect. She was a great help to me.
The aftercare is stressed!! There is a structured program but it is also flexible to each individuals needs. If you need a fill you may have a fill. The diet to follow... [Click here for more] after banding and before the first fill was covered really well.
Overall a great experience. I can't think of anything I was dissapointed with. There were a couple papers that didn't make it in my chart but they were immediatly located and included.
For me as a question asker and sort of a control freak. I need the combination of great surgical skills and someone I can relate to. Dr Neal fills both those 100%.
After a long insurance battle that this office helped with and got through I am finally banded. We did have a bit of a communication break down regarding how able bodied I would be after the procedure but it was not any one's fault. After some quick thinking we found a way to make everything work.
I highly suggest you consider this Surgeon and practice as your choice for Lap Band. I feel you will not be dissapointed. They are all so very wonderful.

I really liked my surgeon when I met him, along with all of the staff at Pacific Surgical. He came highly recommended, and one of the staff members is a 3-year post op lapband patient herself, by Dr. Neal. So her story alone was a good selling point.
I am very happy with my choice, and I had checked out at least 4 different Dr.'s office's. Posted on 05/24/2006 |
