I first met Dr. Frantzides at this website in September of 2008, when I first began seriously looking into RNY. He had about 280 testimonials and I read every single one of them. Once I was done with them, I knew I found my surgeon. The next day I called his office and asked how can I meet him.. Little did I know, I was going to wait for 13 months from that initial appoitment to the day of my surgery.
When I met him, I was honestly scared.I was worried that he may yell at me that I have gotten so out of control but I was so wrong. The doctor made me feel so at ease and he actually told me that I was in a pretty good shape considering how over weight I was. He examined me and told me that I would be a very easy surgery because I dont have much fat on my belly..that was so nice to... [Click here for more] hear. Then we went over the pros and cons of the procedure and the different procedures and the Dr explained to me why RNY is the best choice for me, which completely made me feel comfortable with my decision.
He told me that if I listen to him and did everything he wants from me, I will heal faster and have an amazing results. He is so confident when he speaks that you cant not trust him. Since this initial meeting and reading all his reviews, I was more than confident that I have made the right decision to choose him. I put up a huge fight with my insurance to approve the procedure through him. It took me a whole year but I did it..soon I will be on the other side.

I weighed 310lbs, I had surgery Octerober 21, 2008. At that time I had servere diabetes and had to take 9 shots a day, high blood pressure, chronic pain, depression, and heart problems. Six months later I weigh 201lbs, I am cured of my diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic pain, depression, and have not had any heart issues. All thanks to Dr. Frantzides, Dr. Roberts and the rest of his staff. During the first couple of months I could not have done it without the emotional support that Jerri gave me. The biggest change is that I can see myself living to play with my grandchildren. I would do this again, I am now living and not just surviving.

I am 11 months out from my surgery and WOW!!! Where do I begin?
Dr. Frantzides SAVED my life. Prior to surgery, I was so ill with a digestive disease and diagnosed with fibromyalgia. After the surgery, day by day, month by month my health has improved to a level where I never previously felt this good. All the earlier symptoms connected with fibromyalgia have disappeared and the many medications that I once took now I no longer need. Looking in the mirror is only the icing on the cake; my improved health condition is the real blessing.
My energy level and the positive way in which I feel, both physically and emotionally now is the most treasured gift anyone could receive.
I thank God every day for the skill and professionalism of Dr.Frantzides.

The surgery is not an easy process by anymeans, but it is worth it. In 2 month the difference in life style I have experinced is unbelievable. I am not out of breath, I can sleep much better, I can sit and enjoy a meal becasue I am taking the time to eat, not eating just to eat. It is life changing but it is worth it. If you do what the doctor says you will recover the way you are suppose to. If you are creative you will not get bored with the foods and options you are limited too the first 3 month and it will show you how to be creative after as well. It has been two months since my surgery. So far I lost 31 pounds, I have no problem sleeping now, prior to surgery I had bad sleep apnea, and snoring. I no longer have these problems. Also the pain in my joints has gone away, as well as the leg cramps I used to have. Overall I feel a lot better. The great thing is that I am able to still eat all the things that I like and have the benefit of continuing weight loss, all that has changed is the amount I eat. For me the weight loss is not the only benefit of this surgery. Having the gastric bypass took away a lot of other problems I had that were just as major. I would highly recommend having the procedure, and I wish I had done it sooner. I did my research when it came to looking for the surgeon that would do my surgery. I have... The reason Dr. Frantzides's patients do so well and are able to not have eating restrictions is that he does not cut the vagus nerve. I am forever thankfull to Dr. Frantzides.

Today was my 7 month visit with Dr F. Thus far, I have lost about 80 lbs. I have never been so happy in my entire life. Before surgery, I had no idea what to expect. I was making a decision that was going to change the course of my entire life at only 21 years old. If I had to go back and do it all over again, I would not change a thing. Dr F changed my life and gave me the opportunity to start over. While other people have said they could not get this surgery done laproscopicly, Dr F wouldn't have it any other way. Now 7 months later, I have confidence that I never had before, and the ability to do things that I only dreamed about. His gentle manner and ability to put me at ease in any situation is incredible. My surgery was in August of 2008, I have lost 160 lb so far, I feel absolutely wonderfull. I can eat any food that I want just in limited amounts. That is where Dr. Frantzides makes a difference. I have gone to seminars and have met people who are not able to eat a lot of the basic things like sugar and meat without throwing up. Dr. Frantzides preserves the vagus nerve and his patients are able to enjoy all foods including sugar. I have increased energy that allows me to do things around the house and even excercise. Prior to the surgery I was in constant knee pain, the weight loss relieved all the stress on my joints and I don't have any problems anymore. I met Dr. Frantzides through friends that had the surgery. I had confidence just looking at their results but once I met Dr.... I found Dr. Frantzides on the obesity help website. Eventhough I live almost 300 miles away I chose to come all the way to see him because of high level of expertise, and reputation. He has a very good personality and makes you feel at ease, and his confidence carries over to his patients. I would recomment Dr. Frantzides to anyone who needs weight loss surgery, and I have done just that. Ever since I had surgery in Feb of 09, so far I lost about 60 pound. All the swelling from my feet and ankles is gone, blood pressure is back to normal, blood sugar is normal and my stamina and mental attitute have greately improved (says my husband). My post operation period was short with only minimal discomfort. I am now able to eat any kind of food I want to eat, only in smaller amounts....
