Hey there,
So who is finished with all their shopping?? Certainly not me! I am the
worst procrastinator ever.
We are meeting this Tuesday, Dec 5th (tomorrow) at 7 PM - Lakewood Baptist
Church. We will be making plans for the party at my house, date, time,
white elephant gift etc..
I was able to get a peek preview of the video from the fashion show.
Totally awesome! I will try to get a copy so we can watch it at one of our
upcoming meetings. We are in the very formative stages already for the 07
CELEBRATION! It will be here before we know it. So in your free minutes
jot down some ideas/suggestions for next year. We will be looking for
volunteers in all capacities. Keep checking the boards and your emails.
There is going to be 2 new meetings (1 time only) offered by Dr's Betsy
Ryland and Greg Cox. One group is men only, the other ladies only. Yes,
you guessed the topic - SEX. The meetings are scheduled for March 7, 2007
at 7 PM at the B'wick Campus Hospital.
Have a blessed Holiday Season!

awesome. He weighed 10 pounds 14 ounces!
How many want to resume walking this Saturday? Please let me know. Hope
to see you at Tuesday's meeting. Have a safe, healthy, HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!

OK Betsy - inquiring minds want to know??? At 6:45 a.m. YAWNNNN my 21
month old alarm clock sounded, ha! I couldn't wait tho - hadn't seen her
in 2 days. It still amazes me that we haven't seen or heard from Debbie,
Net, Ana, or Lisa, hahaha. Did they have a party and not invite us?? I
have some good pictures and some not so good, but remember pictures can
last forever, ha. I might have to destroy a few,:):). I'll get in touch
with you this week after I burn them to a CD for you and Debra. TTFN,

Oh MY.........................So Who had a GREAT time last night??? I'm
sitting her completely baffled,,,,,How in the world did you people (that
have already posted) get up sooo early this morning? Inquiring minds wants
to know!!!!! And shortly we will have proof as I'm up loading my pictures
as we speak. I must say I have some good and interesting ones ( Thanks to
all the folks who grabbed my camera and snapped away) I'll post the link to
the pictures as soon as they are edited and loaded. I will be posting on
the Kodak gallery. Please send me a link to any pictures that get posted
and I will try to get all the links in one Email to send to everyone.
I have over 140 pictures and I as I was looking at them I STILL kept
thinking "Oh I wish we had of got a picture of this or that!!" There were
so many wonderful, funny, amazing, and most of all touching moments from
last night. I really needed to have four different bodies (but, got just
one normal size one LOL) with a dozen or so hands and a thousand cameras to
capture everything that was happening last night.
I would love to put down in writing every person that touched me in one
way or another last night but to do that I would need the list of each and
every one that was there because.........I was touched by every one of
you!!!!!!!!! From statements such as " We would have never been able to
ALL fit in this room or on this dance floor 3 or 2 or 1 years ago" to the
moments when we could not hold back the tears of joy or pride for and of
our fellow travelers on this journey.
Sooooooooooo Thank you to all the people that made this possible and MOST
of all thank you to all of you that came out to share your selves with us.
A night to remember!!!!!!!
All of you ROCK!!!!!!!
If you missed it I'm so sorry BUT..................There's always NEXT
year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're missing out if you miss support group!

Good Morning,
The St. Marys/Kingsland Support Group wll be meeting this Tuesday 9/19 at
Lakewood Baptist Church at 7 PM. If you have not rec'd your invitation to
the Celebration, I will have some with me. You can also download it from
the yahoo group at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lessismoreingeorgia/. Remember you
must be a member of this group as it is a private site. The support group
leaders, Debra - the bariatric coordinator, Janet - office manager from the
doc's office met last week. We are in the final stages of planning. I can
tell you that lots of man hours has gone into this event trying to make it
a fun, memorable event, marking YOUR successes in this journey. So please,
if you have not RSVP'd, do so quickly. Space for the day event (for the
patient only - held at the hospital) is limited but the evening
dinner/dance (spouses and support persons are encouraged to attend - held
at the Jekyll Island Convention Center) can accomodate many more! How are
we doing on door prizes?? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate
to contact any of the support group leaders (me, Betsy T, Bette D or
Debra). Hope you all have a wonderful protein filled day!

Hello Everyone,
Well the "Celebration" time is getting closer and closer! I hope you are
getting excited, I know I am!!
The registration/invitations are in the mail. Went out the end of last
week so, keep checking those mailboxes. Seating is limited so please get
your registrations back soon. This will be an event you won't want to
miss.
"Celebration" fashion show models please return your information and
pictures to Debra Proulx or Rhonda soon. Thanks We are going to have a
blast!! If you are a model and did not get an e-mail from Rhonda please
drop me an e-mail. tayler1@adelphia.net We are planning a reheasal for the
show so look for an e-mail from Rhonda. I know all of you will not be able
to come for this but please try to make it as it will help us to be ready
for anything on that day. The time and day for this has not been deciced
yet. Thanks
We have formed an online group for all our support groups. It is called
"Less is More in Georgia" We felt we needed a place that is private(as
private as you can get on the Internet) to support and ask questions of
each other. It features a message board and a calendar. We will be able to
keep you up-to-date about all the events and times and places of meetings.
So please go take a look and see if this is something you think you would
benefit from. Here is the link
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/lessismoreingeorgia/
You will need to join this group as the membership is restricted (to
ensure that this message board will be private). You will not be able to
read or post messages until after you join. You are not alone!!!!!
The support groups will be working on their poster boards to be set up at
the "Celebration" event. So, we need some of your time, energy and,
creative ideas. Come on, There has to be some scrapbookers out there just
waiting for this opportunity. The Brunswick group will be working on this
for the next 2 meetings.
Please help out all our groups with this. Watch for an e-mail telling you
when your group will be doing their's.
In the near future, there will be a new program rolling out. It will be a
"Back on Track" program for those of us who did not get to where we want to
be or, put back on some weight. The bugs are being worked out now so stay
tuned for more information. If you would be interested in a program of this
nature please drop me an e-mail. tayler1@adelphia.net

Good morning!!
We have about 7 weeks before the "CELEBRATION" on October 7th. Are you
getting excited? Lots of things are in the works, people working very hard
to make this 1st Celebration very special. I am trying to maintain,
organize a master list for the fashion show. Please, if you have told your
support group leader to add you to the list, email me to include a home #
and current clothing size or what you think you will be by that
time(rainbow@kgldcable.com). If you model, you will need to meet about 2
weeks prior for your fitting etc .. Most of our clothing will be on loan
from the stores in the B'wick mall. Aas many of you know Chef Dave (
http://www.chefdave.org/) will be there along with Collen Cook
(http://www.bariatricsupportcenter.com/module-pagesetter-viewpub-tid-3-pid-23.phtml)
a professional panel to include the Dr's, dietitican, Dr. Cox and/or Dr.
Betsy Ryland, possibly a plastic surgeon and more. We have some volunteers
working on various venders to come to this event also. Remember the day
event is for the patient only. The evening event is for your significant
other/major supporter to join you (fee yet to be deteremined). We will
have a dinner/dance at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. This is just a
small peek into what lies ahead. We are hoping that the invitations will
be ready bythe end of August. I will post as soon as I hear they have hit
the post office. Remember it is for the first 125 people - (day event) as
space is limited. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your
area support group leader Bette D, Betsy T, Rhonda F, or Debra Proulx -
our bariatric coordinator at the hospital.
Blessings, Rhonda

Good morning!
We will be having a meeting this Tuesday, August 1st. We will meet as the
“informal” meeting seeing that Dr.’s Cox nor Ryland will be with us. (They
will join us on August 15th.) This meeting (Aug 1st) we will discuss (I
will bring the minutes of our Celebration meeting 10/7) the reunion needs,
volunteers etc… This will also be a time to just check in with one
another, welcome our newcomers, encourage the post-opers, welcome those
back from vacation!
If you see someone who hasn’t been to a meeting in a while, encourage them
to come on back. We really want this Celebration to be the beginning of
something new for us who have journeyed through the lonely path of obesity.
Remember these meetings are open to your support persons too.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Have a safe, cool, hydrated weekend!
Blessings, Rhonda

Howdy All! It's been months since I've posted and caught up on everyone. I
love reading recent posts to see how everyone's doing. I had my gyn surgery
done 7 wks ago, finally got to go back to work this week. Boy, recovery
took longer than I thought, but praise the Lord things are much better now.
I still have another minor surgery next week, say a prayer please. It's
amazing that when we're morbidly obese, it masks so many physical problems
that we don't even know that we have. I have lost a total of 170 lbs now,
from 290 to 120. Who would have ever thought it could happen so fast?
I was recently told of a quick breakfast idea that's kinda of like a
treat. I went to Walmart and bought the vanilla flavored whey protein (no
sugar of course) I make a single serving size of Quaker 1 minute Oats (5
grams protein), add 1 scoop of the protein (20 grams), a tad of butter and
a little milk (2-3 grams protein) top it off with a couple of packs of
spenda. Kinda reminds you of cake batter and you get in 28-30 grams of
protein to start the day off with. I also bought the choc. flavored
protein for..., in blender I put a walmart lite yogurt(vanilla), scoop of
choc. protein, sf choc flavored syrup, and ice. 28 or so grams of protein,
appr.8 grams of sugars, and tastes like a choc. shake. Hope this helps.
Best wishes. Donna
