HELP - Was approved / now denied

I've had approval and pre-certification for my surgery for almost 2 months now. My surgery is scheduled for 3 weeks from today. HOWEVER, today the insurance company called and told the doctor that they'd made a mistake and that I was denied because this was an exclusion on my policy (UHC). On my documents it said except for "medically necessary" but I found out that in the last year they changed it to just an exclusion (no "medically necessary" statement). I'm so upset - I've cried, and cried - here I've made plans and had my heart set on my new life only to find out that everything I've worked and prayed for is over. Do I have any recourse? Is it even worth fighting if my policy states it excludes the treatment of morbid obesity? We have no other healthcare options at work and I have NO MONEY to self-pay so this was my only hope. Am I just out of luck now? If you have any insight please help. I'd greatly appreciate it.
