Will I need to meet with my primary Dr. first?

Renee, with my insurance, I needed a referral from my pcp. I was really nervous about approaching him but he was and remains so supportive of this decision. Aside from the referral, once I had my surgical consult, I also needed a letter of medical clearance from my pcp before my surgeon's office would schedule my surgery date. Hope this helps.

My PCP is the one who encouraged me to look into the surgery. He has been very supportive. He also has had several patients that have gone through surgery before me, and they were very successful.
