Question:
Your thoughts on switching insurance companies after WLS?

My current provider (federal Aetna HMO) has significantly raised their premiums, copays and everything else. I'd like to switch to federal HMP(Bc/bs). Do you think this will have any affect on getting reconstructive surgery paid for if I switch? Any other thoughts about complications from switching (no preexisting condition clause in HMP). I'm 12 wks. post-op, and my insurance is changing on 1-1-02. The nurse at my surgeon's office said that there will be no problem getting my follow-up care with my new insurance co., even though they won't pay for WLS. We'll have to wait and see if they will cover plastic surgery later. Best wishes, DebbieC
