Question:
Has anyone had any experience with A.E.I.?

I have AEI/Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Arizona. Getting the insurance approval was very easy--it was the wait on the Doctor's Office that took a long time. They were slow in getting things out to the insurance company, but only because they are so back-logged. BC/BS has an exclusion for WLS, but if you meet the 4 requirements, then they will approve the surgery. They paid almost everything, but I did have $850.00 out of pocket expense to the hospital. I knew before hand what I needed to submit to the Doctor's Office, so it only took me a few weeks to get approval. Who is your surgeon? Contact his office and get his packet--fill it out completly, get a psych eval, a letter from your PCP, I also wrote a letter of necessity for myself and submitted it with all my documents.
