Question:
Have you been approved without 5 years of morbid obesity?

I have been clinically obese for more than 5 years, but just recently become morbidly obese. Has anyone been approved by Aetna without 5 years of MORBID OBESITY? Thanks    — Natalie B. (posted on August 6, 2004)

Most insurance companies use the N.I.H standards (B.M.I. >40). I had the surgery 2/04 and got approved without being obese even 1 yr and I just had a baby in July 03. Good Luck.
