Question:
NGS American Insurance-What is their approval rate?

I have done everything they have asked including the 6 month supervised diet. I am waitng on preapproval and it seems that the ins. company has always come back wanting more information. After 1 1/2 years it now sounds now as if they have everything they need and I should know in 7-10 days. Has anyone out there been denied by NGS and what what was the reason for denial.    — shields (posted on September 27, 2004)

I have NGS insurance, and was denied twice before my approval, for an open RNY. I was denied because I supposedly needed a 6 month medically supervised diet. I have been in Weight watchers twice, and TOPS twice. Both times I went to TOPS, I went to my DR first for an ok, and a weight loss goal. I periodically saw my Dr, while on these programs, but they didn't accept them as a medically supervised program. I ended up seeing my Dr, and being sent to a dietician, to gain approval. Good luck!!
