can you get approved while on COBRA?

I was approved while on cobra. My husband was laid off from his job and we continued with the insurance after he left his job with cobra, so I would not have a break in insurance. then as soon as I had my surgery, we dropped it. he already had another job though. good luck.

Yes, I did. I thought I would have a major problem getting approved, but got a YES letter after my first request. I was on cobra under United HealthCare as a grad student. I too dropped it a few months after-- when I started working full time.

Yes, I was approved while I was on Cobra too. I figured this was the best time to have the surgery, while I was in between jobs. I was approved in December, and I had surgery January 13th! After the staples come out next week, I guess I will start job hunting again :)

Yes, I was approved while on Cobra also. I had my surgery on Dec. 16th. Good luck to you.

absolutely..nothing changes with your ins. carrier except what you may have to pay as a premium..I've had 7 surgerys for wls (hernisa, mesh repair and even plastic surgery) and was approved the same day the MD sumitted their paperwork.
