Paramount FEHB covers

bariatric surgeons in their plan. Any ideas on how to get them to approve an out-of-plan surgeon or clinic?    — Julie K. (posted on August 18, 1999)

I was able to get a bariatric surgeon approved as "in-network" because there were no bariatric surgeons on their in-network list. The insurance company spoke to the surgeons office and worked out all the details. I suppose that the surgeon had to agree to the in-network prices for performing the surgery. I ended up being responsible for about 10% or $1,500.
