The first description sounds like the procedure the Doctors USED to perform, I think it was called a gastrojejunostomy- but that they are saying they will not cover this anymore. The second description is what they perform now is a "version" of gastrojejunostomy , which as I read is cleary acceptable to Medicare... I have read many posts on this site from people with Medicare, and I do believe they recieved coverage...

I am on medicare in Texas. My surgeon does not even have to wait for approval. They perform the surgery and will bill me if there is anything not paid. I have also been told it has to be medically neccessary. Then you can have the tummy tuck too because it is medically necessary. My surgery is on Monday June 19,2000. I have heard on this site that medicare paid 100%. I was told to call medicare if I wanted to and ask them. If you have any questions you want to ask email me ... [email protected]. God bless and good luck.
