Question:
To anyone out there with BCBS of AL PPO what were you experiances with them?

How extensive was your diet history? What were your co-morbidities? Did you write letters to them telling them about yourself? I am just starting the process and I am eager to find out more information.    — imano1momy (posted on October 8, 2000)

Dear Jessica, I have bcbs of la ppo, I have been denied twice, there is a exclusion written into my contract. Check your contract under exclusions and you will know more about what kind of battle you will be in for. I am still trying. my bmi is 52 and I have 11 co-morbiditys Good luck Nancy in LA

I have BC/BS PPO thru Bellsouth. The only way I was covered was by not showing need for the surgery as Obesity but for GERD(Reflux disease) they deemed it medically nesc. If you have GERD see if your surgeon can make that the reason for the surgery. GOOD LUCK!
