Question:
Can someone please tell me what to do now?

The waiting is really getting to me. I am sure that it gets to everyone. I called to check on my statis of my request for preapproval and they said they haven't received it yet. I called the doc's office they said they sent it a couple of weeks ago and that they would check into it. The insurance co. said that it should only take 24-48 hours for approval. Should I stay on the doctors office or wait for them to get back with me? I am just tired of waiting. Thanks for all your support and responces!!!!!    — [Anonymous] (posted on November 9, 2000)

Call your insurance company, get the person's name that will handle your case and their fax number. Go to the doctor's office and ask for a copy of the SIGNED letter that they claim to have sent. Then fax it to the insurance company. Call the person you talked to and confirm that they received the fax. Ask them if there is any other information they need. Call them back in 48 hours if you have not heard from them. Sometimes you have to give the system a little push to get things going. Best of luck to you!!

I totally know where you are coming from friend!!! I have been waiting for 1 month. I called to check in also and was told that I was not in the computer system? WHAT??? I called the Bariatric treatment center, and they said that they faxed all of my info to Ins, co. the day after I was there for my consult! I'm lost in cyber space!! BTS advised me to stay out of it, and let them deal with the insurance bit!!! What DO you do??
