Question:
I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT ALL OF THE TEST TRICARE HAVE YOU TO GO THORUGH

I KNOW EVERY DOC IS DIFFERENT AS WELL AS INSURANCE COMPANY SO I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT IF YOU ARE TRICARE PRIME PERHAPES HAVEING SURGERY ON POST WHAT TYPE OF TEST DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE BEFORE YOUR FINAL APPROVAL I AM PLANNING TO HAVE MY SURGERY ON POST AND MY FIRST APPT WITH THE GENERAL SURGEON IS TUESDAY I AM SO EXCITED YOU WOULD THINK THAT I WAS GETTING THE SURGEY TUESDAY BUT ANYWAY THANKS FOR YOU ANSWERS AND SUPPORT    — JENNIFER S. Jennifer, If you are having surgery on Post, I do not think you have to deal with Tricare. I would check, but I think that is for care off base that Tricare would step in.

Our base surgeon requires a sleep study, a visit to a dietician, an EKG, bloodwork, a mandatory "seminar", and that you attend at least one support group meeting. Good luck!

Since you are having it on post then the surgeon is the only one who will dictate what tests you have to have. There is a list of tests that Tricare wants done on the website but you will have to do a search for them. The best thing is just to go to the first appointment and go with what he says to get done. Even Tricare won't tell you exactly what has to be done and they can throw some stuff in there that isn't even written down anywhere. You should be fine going with the on base surgeon less leg work and hassle with Tricare.
