Hi! I've not had the RNY but in March (or so) I'm having the band taken out and the RNY done. I have only lost 12 or so pounds in 2 years with the band. I had a little trouble getting it approved with insurance, but my doctor's office went to bat for me. I just want to be done being FAT! ;o) Good luck!!

I had a RNY revision on 12/27/10. I had my original surgery in 1990. This surgery was so much better than the first one. I have lost weight, down 131 from surgery date, and have now stabilized at a size 14. I'd like to lose another 10# but it won't be the end of the world if I don't. My advice would be to follow everything that the surgeon tells you. If they have any classes regarding what to expect, take them. My surgeon had a lot of requirements for me to follow prior to the surgery including a diet. It's been more than worth it.

I had my orginal RNY surgery 5/18/2004. I lost 140 lbs. After 6 years I gained 45 lbs. I decided to have a RNY revision and had it on 8/29/2011. I have lost 56 lbs and the doctor told me that I would loose a minimum of 100 lbs. Right now I am at a plateau but I am happy with the results. I have some gastro problems and some vomitting issues but I am happy with my decision most days.
