Well I am around three years out, I really haven't changed my diet but I joined a health club, and I gained 4 lbs, it is freaking me out. If I do not go to the gym I will wlk 45 minutes that day. I am really scared to death that I am starting to gain, I am going back to the counselor. I am going to start to write down everything I eat, this way I will see where the issues are. Good luck

If I remember correctly, the basics are the following: get your protein in, cut down or out the simple carbs like sugar , white flour-anything that doesn't have nutrional value, get your vitamins and fluids in, excercise, journal your food.

I regained 30 of the 140 that I lost after my surgery 3 years ago this month, and I have been battling for a year to get it off again. I finally spoke to my PA about the problem, and her first suggestion was that I seemed to be suffering a mild episode of depression that was affecting my addictive behavior and cravings. She suggested that I speak to my PCP and pharmacist to get on a short course of anti-depressants, and once those kicked in, I should think about goung on their plateau-busters program. Well, I wanted to make sure that anything I took was not indicated for increased risk for diabetes type 2, or weight gain...and we came up with Wellbutrin. It is also often prescribed for people trying to quit smoking, as it tends to reduce cravings. It is working great for , arme

I would start with 3 days of liquid diet.(Clear liquids, jello no sugar popsicles)This will help reduce the fat around your liver and organs again. Then eat 6-7 meals a day. that would be 3 regular and 2 snacks. Keeps your insulin levels normal and you are less hungry. you should have 60 protein a day total only I take bariatric fusion chewables. they have everything that you will need to take and because they are chewable they go down faster. Exercixe cardio. core and balance. Kee is the repitation of movements with 15 X per rep. and then 40 seconds recovery. Keep your heart rate up. Walking is great for this. Move your arms and walk slow then fast then speed walk. then keep in mind to look for the hills not huge ones but gradual ones. Water 48-60 cups a day! And SLEEP! your body will need lots of sleep to rebuild the muscles. Yes you will ache for a while if you have not exercized for a while. But it is worth it. You will see in no time say 3- 6 months you will have that 30 lbs off Remember not to drink your calories. I am not refering to just booze but juice, cream in your decaf coffee..... Only use low fat milk avoid cheese and dary products as well as bad carbs. THings that you have to bake toast or you know are refined. Rice potatoes pasta..... Good luck ! I know that this is going to be hard but take it one mouthful at a tim e keep a journal of what you are eating and howmuch. DO NOT eat something that you dislike CHEW until allmost liquid in your mouth and STAY AWAY from having liquids 1/2 hr before you eat and 1 hr after. NO SODA!! not even diet. THe sodium will hinder your weight loss in a HUGE WAY.

I'm a weight watcher member and I find that keeps me grounded. I am only 2 1/2 months post op but I find writting down all that I eat and attending my meetings helps me.
