Question:
What is the best/most comfortable abdominal binder to get?

I had an open gastric bypass in 2005. Since then, I have had 7 "adhesion" and hernia surgeries! I had to have an Abdominal Wall Reconstruction for multiple Ventral Hernias in June. Unfortunately, the surgeon used 2 layers of mesh, and I have been in extreme pain with LOTS of swelling! My whole abdomen looks like a beach ball. The surgeon didn't do ANY follow up care...and when I called to tell them my abdomen was so swollen..and very painful...the surgeon never would return my calls. He had his secretary call and tell me to see my PCP...or go to the ER if I was having problems! He didn't even WANT to see me..or find out what was wrong. So...my PCP found a really GREAT surgeon for me to see..Dr. Yunis is awesome! He immediately had me go to the hospital and had another drain put in; I was so swollen, they drained over 2 liters of fluid...and I had the drain in for 5 weeks. But now I am all swollen again...7 months from my surgery! Dr. Yunis drained some of the fluid...did a CT Scan, and said that I will have to have another surgery to remove the top layer of mesh, because fluid is building up between the 2 layers of mesh!! :'( The surgery is scheduled for Feb. 10th. I have to wear an abdominal binder now, and will have to wear one for 3-6 months after this next surgery. So...I am looking for the most comfortable one..hopeful I can find one that I can wear under clothes easier. If anyone can help me...I would appreciate it SO MUCH ! :) AND if anyone has any advice about the "Mesh Removal" surgery I'm about to have...I would LOVE the advice and support!! <3 Thanks! ~~Terribelle.    — terribelle (posted on January 18, 2014)
