Hey Jud, I don't have any answers for you about Alabama surgeons, but I can answer questions about being a self-pay patient if you're interested. My husband and I both self-paid for our surgeries (two years apart) and have been thrilled with the experience. Our surgeon is Dr. Aniceto Baltasar in Alcoy, Spain. Hello, I had Lap RNY by Dr.Clifford Black in Anniston,AL and he was absolutely great! I researched alot of his patients and I also knew a few ladies who had the surgery by the same Dr and NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE, including myself had ANY comlications at all!!!!! This is a FANTASTIC Dr!!! I'm not sure of the self pay for his office though here's the # to his office....(256)240-9660
