I haven't yet but I am scheduled to have my sleeve with Dr. Guillermo
Alvarez April 5th. I've read many, many , many positive things about him.
You can also check out his work on you tube. He has done over 1250+
sleeves and that is all he does besides lap-bands. I feel really good about
the choice I have made. But like me, you have the border? concerns, right?
another one I hear good things about is Dr. Aceves and he has a special

Hi Marie,
I just had my surgery done by Dr. Kuri in Tijuana. Angeles Hospital was
BEAUTIFUL. I've never been in a nicer, more modern hospital. The hospital
and hotel were in an upscale part of town and I felt totally safe the whole
time. I walked around in the day time, shopping, getting my hair done, etc.
I did not go out after dark, except once when I took a taxi to the
drugstore. You don't have to use pesos because everyone takes US dollars.
(But I think it's 12 pesos to each dollar, but it varies according to the
current exchange rate.) I'm planning to return to Tijuana for my first fill
in March. If I were you, I would research the hospital you're having the
surgery done at and see if you feel comfortable with it. I would not have
the surgery in a clinic or doctor's office. I don't know what your dr's
special is, but my total cost was $7000. Best of luck to you!

I had surgery Nov 19, 2008 in Mexico. I flew to San Diego and a van/driver
picked us up. (There were 2 other females that came in from the states). If
you go to my page, I raved about my experience. It's a 90 min drive to the
private hospital and Dr Aceves and his staff were wonderful. very safe,
very clean, great bedside manner. You can't go wrong. check Dr Aceves out.
