Question:
I need to find a doctor in the state of Louisiana that takes medicaid....

Im a 29 year old female in the state of Louisiana desperately needing the surgery. I have been searching for several years. Im willing to travel anywhere in the state of louisiana. It's very hard finding a doctor that accepts only medicaid. I found a doctor in Covington Louisiana but he no longer takes medicaid. So please help me. I really needed your help. I have been trying to locate a doctor for more than five years. Again i really do need your help.......    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on May 7, 2007)

Josalyn, Go to the Louisiana MB -- here is the link: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/LA/posts.html I'm sure Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport takes medicaid or maybe even Bossier Medical Center. I believe Doctor's Hospital or Schumpert may take medicaid as well. Post on the message board -- they are really helpful and supportive group.

Josalyn, Here is a link to the reviews on Doctor's Hospital in Shreveport -- I liked this hospital too. I used to be a police officer in Shreveport and I'd stop by and visit the staff when I worked graveyard. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+hospital+detail+Doctors+Hospital+of+Shreveport+dcg.html

Hello Josalyn. If medicaid themselves do not have a list of surgeons available to you, check with a local public hospital. They should take medicaid for all patients. You probably need to go to a large city to find a hospital, but if you needed any surgery, that hospital that would take you should also provide this service. Patricia P.
