Question:
DOES ANYONE HAVE UNITED HEALTH CARE PPO IN LOUISIANA AND WAS APPROVED FOR SURGERY ?

I have United Healthcare PPO in Indiana and I was approved in less than a week. I wish you the same luck I had~!!!

I have UHC in Tenn and have been waiting for 15 days. So far I was told over the phone the I was approved but my surgeon requires UHC to provided a document that says so, so UHC has to put through his predeterimination letter which apparently takes 30 days to process. Have you applied yet? If not, give UHC a call and ask them what their policy is. (I also have PPO and was told that all my surgeon had to do was call and tell them that I was 100+ overweight and everything would be covered)

I have UHC PPO in Florida. I was approved in 2 1/2 weeks. I just called frequently. It seemed that each time I called I got a different answer. One said that it would take up to 6 weeks. Another said 3 and so on. If it helps, I am not 100 lbs. overweight. My BMI is 35 and I have 3 co-morbidities. My doctor's office says that UHC is one of the best at approving this surgery. I live in Louisiana and have UHC PPO. I was approved rather quickly, with Liv-Lite talking to my insurance and getting the approval.
