Question:
Any NJ surgeons out there who will accept what NjPlus pays as "payment in full"????

I have received paperwork from Dr Onopchenko that he must be paid balance within 30 days, but i have no idea exactly the total cost of this surgery. I need a surgeon who will accept what my insurance will pay them as payment in full.    — Ladyonyx257 (posted on October 22, 2006)

If he wants you to pay the balance in full, you need to ask him what the total cost is. Also, there is the option of calling the insurance carrier and having them work out an arrangement where payment is based on an in-network price. Of course this has to be done before the surgery (at least here in my state) and that means getting your insurance company to locate a doctor that they will include in their network.

I had Dr. Schmidt from Advanced Laprascopic Surgery in Hackensack 4 years ago and it was covered 100%. I think one of my sister-in-laws that have used him more recently had NJ Plus and it was a minimal amount they had to pay plus they have a payment plan.
