Question:
Medicaid WILL pay for the surgery...TEXANS

Did some inquiring from Medicaid on Friday and low and behold I found out that they will cover the surgery as long as it is "Medically Necessary". The rep from Medicaid said that WLS is covered, but the key is going through your PCP and getting them to get the ball rolling. He did mention that it is not an easy task and you might have to jump through some hoops, but if you've waited this long, you can wait a little longer. If you have any questions contact your case manager from whatever medicaid plan you are signed up with...I'm so excited I'm about to bust. I have my first visit with my PCP concerning this issue 11/26..you guys keep your fingers, legs, arm, ankles crossed-LOL and pray really hard that this is the door opening for me to finally be "FREE" Love You Guys!!!!!    — mischief85 (posted on November 24, 2002)
