Question:
Is anyone familiar with the Gastric Sleeve Plication method of w/l surgery?
I have been researching the vertical sleeve in Mexico and was advised by doctor that due to my age(64 yrs)they would only do the Gastric sleeve plication procedure. — dbrad2010 (posted on February 18, 2010)

Googling the procedure showed that this is basically a new procedure where
instead of cutting the stomach out, as the doctors would with the sleeve,
they sew it back in on itself. From what I can see, it is somewhat like
the Stomaphyx procedure in that it folds the stomach back on itself to make
the stomach have less volume. You can watch a video of the procedure here:

Don, just wanted you to know that I am six months out with the sleeve and
doing fine. I am 65 years old and had NO problems. I don't understand why
they are balking at your age, if you are healthy. I might get another
opinion if I were you mainly because the part of the stomach that is
removed during the sleeve procedure produces the enzyme that makes you
hungry. If that part is just folded over, the will still get that hunger.

I am 63 and just had a sleeve done in December. I think you need a new
doctor.

It is a great new procedure. Less complications and equal weight loss.Dr
