Question:
I have my surgery in 2003 and have just found out that I have a fistula

I never really lost a lot of weight, so I just figured I was a failure at the RNY surgry. In November of this year 2013, just found out that I had a fistula and that the the pouch and the stomach was getting food. I always wow, I can eat a lot of food, I don't dump, I just am a failure. My doctor has me scheduled for Jan 20, 2014 if insurance approves it. I am pretty upset about knowing that the first surgeon did not check my pouch after surgery, and I had complications, thinking I had a pulmonary embolism. Did all the testing for that, and thankfully they came out negative, but I did have pneumonia, which did not make sense since I was up the night of surgery and every day afterwards. I, also have an incisional hernia, that makes me look 9 months pregnant. How was the fistula formed, and has anyone had that happen to them?    — janetlee55 (posted on December 14, 2013)

HI there I just found out I also have a Fistula which has prevented me from losing weight. My first surgery was in 1988 I had a vertical bypass, I have seen the Specialist this week and hopefully will be having surgery to repair this in the Summer so I can try to loose the weight again.
