Question:
Has anyone been approved for WLS using BCBS of Florida from an HMA hospital?

Have you checked with your insurance company about their policy in regard to WLS as of yet? I had WLS in 2006 and paid $18,500 out of pocket as ALL WLS was an absolute plan exclusion with BCBS of Florida. Period. It was my understanding that nothing had changed. I wish you the best of luck, but, I don't have a good feeling about it.... I can't imagine them having a change of heart so soon although it would be great. I HAD WLS SURGERY AUGUST 13,2008 AND I HAVE BCBS OF FLORIDA AND MY SURGERY WAS COVERED.YOU JUST HAVE TO CALL AND SEE IF IT IS COVERED BY YOUR INS.COMPANY.I WAS TOLD WHEN I CALLED THAT RNY WAS AND LAP BAND WASN'T UNLESS IT WAS MEDICALLY NEEDY.
