I have TRIGON HEALTH KEEPERS and was told that my particular group plan didnt have

THAT RIDER. I WENT TO MY GROUP ADMISTRATOR AND SHE TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE IT WAS AN HMO THAT IT WOULD NOT COVER IT. I TEHN SKED ABOUT THE OTHER PLAN MY COMPANY OFFERS, WHICH IS AETNA US HEALTH, SHE ALSO TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A FRUITLESS EFFORT BECUASE NO HMO WOULD COVER GASTRIC BYPASS, I CAN OBVIOUSLY SEE BY READING OTHRS STORIES THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. I CAN'T FIGURE OUT IF MY COMPANY IS JUST PURPOSLY EXCLUDING THIS SURGERY OR IF THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE?    — TARA P. (posted on November 26, 1999)

If this is HR they just read the same book you do. i am in a pacificare hmo n i had my surgery approved first time no problem. check with the companies themselves and always remember there are exceptions. Work with your doctor too.

Work with you doctor and check with the company direct. Remember there is an appeals process and then legal action. FIGHT -- FIGHT -- FIGHT. NEVER GIVE UP.

Hi - I had NO PROBLEM with Aetna US Healthcare. My PCP referred me and the surgeon writes an excellent letter. I was approved in three days. If you are at least 100 lbs overweight Aetna should approve the procedure. Good luck - email me if you wish at [email protected]
