Your history isn't that unusual, but I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking if another revision is possible? (yes) for YOU? (only the surgeon decides if you are able to survive it) to change surgery type? (assuming you are ok for surgery, yes, but you'll probably have to choose another surgeon, maybe travel far) Start over with your habits and maybe another surgery will make you do it this time? (if behavior is the problem, revision won't change anything).......... So, I'm not sure what you're asking. I know my surgeon has revised revisions and as many as 4 total WLS, but sometimes he will opt out if a person has been mangled by another surgeon. BTW, he defines mangled.

First - congratulations on your weight loss! Next - why do you think the Band didn't work, and you haven't lost weight in 5 years? Something must have changed in your life - did you lose your momentum and spirit? Not follw the diet and/or drink as you should? Had some life-changing event that caused major stress or lost your support system? Just wondering what your perception of the problem is.

How are your eating habits? Have you gone back to your old ways? If you're not sure, keep a food diary for about 2 weeks. That will tell you all you need to know. I agree with the first poster, if you have gone back to your old habitiual eating, another surgery is not going to fix it! This is ONLY a TOOL, we have to LEARN to eat correctly for the rest of our lives, if not, we gain the weight back period. Good luck, God bless and congrats on the weight loss!

I think your surgeries have been a sucess as they are defined to reduce your weight and are not always going to take all of your excess weight off. You have maintained an over 100 lb loss for multiple years and I am sure your health has improved for it. I would be extremely careful doing another surgery, You may have not had complications from the first ones, but could with any additional. I had complications for over a year following my bypass and ended up only losing about 50 lbs, so I don't feel as I gained much from my surgery and experiences. Just proceed with caution!!!!

Wow, have I got the answer for you. You need to seek a qualified surgeon to consider doing a duodenal switch on you. That should work. It is just another form of weight loss surgery. You may have to travel or even go out of state to get it down. I am in the process of seeking one myself from one failed attempt with gastric bypass. DO NOT have another gastric bypass surgery. That obviously will not work for you. Of course, the lapband will not work either. Only the DS has potentio for you. Go to DS forum here on OH or duodenalswitch.com and read all about it and see if you have any interest in this surgery.
