Anyone Have Experience Influencing Legislation

in your state for requiring insurance companies to cover WLS if medically necessary. Any sample letters? This should be covered for everyone who has insurance and truly needs the surgery!    — schandler78 (posted on May 6, 2008)

You might want to check out the New Hampshire Forum. Legislation is being worked on in NH to mandate WLS coverage, and there were people on this forum talking about this not too long ago. Maybe they could point you toward some resources.

There is a march on Washington on June or July 17th They were talking about it in my soppurt group last night

You are so right. What gives the ins companies the right or even the company you work for to say what is covered under tha plan and what isnt. We are paying for it anyway. If you go on the www.obesitylaw.com there is a place on the web site to down load a letter to the president. Not that it matters to him. He is too interested in his princesses wedding. Forward that to him. Maybe we should campaign and get a petition going to send to mr Bush?
