Question:
Do you know if Aetna will cover Lap Band Surgery?

Finally had my consult today, and the surgeon feels that Lap Band is my only option, as I have had cancer in the past, and am only 3 years cancer free. That's fine with me, because it would have been my first choice, but have heard that Aetna will only cover the RNY surgery. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.    — Karrie W. I have Aetna (PPO) and they are covering me. It was super fast and easy. I am scheduled for April 12th. I just got my letter of approval Friday, the surgeon got it a few weeks ago. -Olivia

I have AETNA HMO and they approved me after my first denial letter but as soon as I supplied all required on their list it was approved!Good Luck

I have Aetna and I fought them for 2 1/2 years before they approved me. It was when I changed to RNY that they approved me. It was a rough time, but if you hang in there, it can all happen.
